They’ll insist this is a
one-off victory — something that can only happen in New York & nowhere else.

They’re wrong.

New York is the world financial capital — home of Wall Street & billionaires from across the globe.

If everyday people can defeat oligarchs here, we can defeat oligarchy anywhere.

Even if you aren’t masking anywhere else it still makes sense to wear a mask in medical settings & pharmacies because there’s a greater chance of being close to someone contagious & there are more people who are at higher risk in these places. Masking in these settings both protects you & others.

When you get a vaccine or a medical checkup, we expect the healthcare worker to wash their hands and wear gloves.

We should think the same about wearing masks in medical settings. Viruses can spread pre-symptomatically; masks are another effective infection control measure.

I will die on this hill:

it isn’t hard to say “at the height of the pandemic” or “at the start of COVID” during a podcast interview. Producers, hosts, don’t let your guests say “during COVID” like this thing is over. Correct them. Ask them to say the sentence again. This is your job.

Science shouldn’t be a partisan issue.

From cancer treatments to extreme weather alerts, science makes everyone’s life better, regardless of political affiliation.

But science becomes partisan when corrupt politicians defund research, fire scientists, and censor data, harming us all.

Boycotting is a privilege.

Prepping is a privilege.

Protesting is a privilege.

Leaving the country is a privilege.

Not all solutions are accessible to everyone.

We need robust community care to ensure people aren’t left behind.

like ofc I’m gonna be WAY worse off when I don’t have access to my treatments/supplements (OTC things, my Rx med supply is secure)

heavily dislike having a better day, and noticing today’s better is a previously established poor baseline 😭

*however*
having a hyperfixation day on my PC made me realize days like this were my old baseline when I was worse off, no treatments or supplements etc …

so yeah, love that realization 🙃
