Roswell That Ends Well 👽
Dedicated to my friend Lane Davey & her husband Sean Davey. Lane fought a strong fight against her cancer right up to the end & Sean was by her side for her whole fight.
This image, captured near Roswell, NM a couple weeks ago spun up several tornadoes & a mothership

The latest episode of Kīlauea’s 🌋eruption is producing huge lava fountains. I’ve rarely seen fountains high enough that the scoria cools and turns black while still in the fountain!!

Welcome back! Hope you have a legendary Chase season

Death Valley Days
Storm activity on the north shore of Oahu.
Hi all, I’ve just made the move over to BlueSky, hoping to see a more photo-friendly site with a lot less discourse. I’ll start with this beauty. I was photographing the shore-break, here on the north shore of Oahu and managed to photograph a water spout way out to sea without even realizing it.
Welcome my braddah!
10 years of Pipeline Volume 1 🌊
Looking back at some of my memories of North Shore times as a writer and photographer for various surf publications making lifelong friends and memories

Na Pali Mauka
Kaua'i has always been standout for its elegance and sheer scale on its fluted ridges on the Kalalau in Na Pali. Nearby Mt. Waialeale brings tremendous rains and the elder island slowly erodes back to the ocean creating stunning ridges w/ deep gardens along its exposed red rock
Point Of The Arches
The dancing afterhours light as cirrocumulous clouds illuminate the last remaining light along the Washington coastline at Shi Shi Beach. This sunset lasted seemingly for a long time as a storm approached the coast from the South

It's a like party!😂
My old Canon 1Dx and 1D Mark III were workhorses but pretty awful with noise. It was amazing to go back and clean up this image Jason!
This particular image, captured in 2011 with my old Canon 1DX pushed the absolute boundaries of digital tech back in the day. This is a single massive 19316sec exposure ISO 200 f5.6 @ 15mm (5 hours exposure single shot) in total darkness
Racetrack Galactic
Over the span of the past 30 years capturing unique and wondrous locations, Death Valley holds a charged and memorable otherworldly feel. The Playa Racetrack is the peak of mystery and mana as its sailing stones long kept secrets for their long trails in the clay like ground.
Rope out of the Carbon, Iowa tornado on May 21st 2024, part of the tornado outbreak that spawned the nearby Greenfield, IA tornado.
Hi Everyone! This is our first Bluesky post! Excited to be on here and look forward to chatting with y'all. This photo is from the historic Iowa Tornado Outbreak May 21st, 2024 this year. #tornado #stormchasing #weather
Today has been a day of days along the Pacific coast as the Eddie swell hit the California, Oregon and Washington coast. Carnage and incredible 25 second energy at 21.9 feet created up to 60' waves at standout locations
Awaiting the swell of the decade here in Central California.
Buoy readings 700nm off San Fran are historic readings of 29 second period energy as the Big Monday event appears tomorrow throughout the day. Expect RAPIDY rising swell conditions by mid-morning w/ 30-40' seas at select locations
Currently models have the first event hitting the West Coast on Saturday with 20-25'+ in NorCal at 285deg and 10-15' in SoCal coming from 290deg
The XXL event on Sunday night into Monday could be as large as 30-40' in NorCal and 15-20' in SoCal and clean conditions
The beast is still on track for an XXL surf event along the West Coast and Hawai'i.
Yellow alert for 'The Eddie' contest on O'ahu on Sunday.
Conditions look prime for Mavericks in NorCal and all the way down to Todos Santos and beyond with long period swell this weekend

SOHO LASCO C3 coronagraph imagery showing a large symmetric halo CME out into the telescope’s field of view.
Incredible CME, maybe superstorm on the Sun’s far side today—measuring over 3000 km/s, it will truly go down as one of the fastest CMEs ever measured. Had this been directed toward Earth, it probably would have arrived in just 14-16 hours. Most CMEs usually take around 3 days to get to Earth.
I took a break from the socials, but I'm back! I'll be posting almost daily photos of Lightning, tornadoes, supercells, auroras, abandoned stuff, and occasional landscapes.
