One thing that's readily apparent in the US now is that the trump admin will be allowed to continue to exist unencumbered.
It matters not that this admin aimlessly flounders about... doing basically whatever the hell it is that they want.

I detest Joe Kent (the former counter-terrorism official who suddenly resigned). He was right to leave and not take a position on a war that's already widely panned.
I was never in military service though I must insist on writing that this conflict is unfair to troops.

... about there being either the reality or potential of an Iranian nuclear weapons regime.
Then, in the next sentence of his public speech Trump is near perfect at melding *that* with seizing oil fields by making this a slight about something bigger because *everything goes* with MAGA assholes. /3
The smart, anti-war folks said that President George W. Bush was a "skater president" during the second Iraq war and Afghanistan. I think that assessment proved largely true over the medium-term and long-term — with respect to what was really going on back then.
President Trump says one thing... /2
Trump has gotten pretty good at maintaining a front or facade. It's his special little way to circumvent public perception while using the War Powers Resolution to the fullest extent — while Trump does as little diplomacy as possible being the narcissist that he is. He's a true slacker president. /1
As an open source user in the USA (mostly Linux) I greatly approve of this bold move by Germany. More power to them.
Right now, most people around the world would loudly cheer if Air Force One "disappeared" while the Orange Idiot was making a quick flight to Saudi Arabia for some financial consolation from the Crown Prince...
The USA is basically finished until November 2028. These hooligans have usurped power through election theft ( #Elon Musk used Leonard Leo's judicial activists to h@ck our 2024 election) to achieve a total lock-down with all three branches of the US government. /4

This is the kind of fcking thing that only happens in the #USA. Nowhere else. This does not happen in any EU nation except Hungary. It does not happen generally in South America nor in Asiatic countries, really.
Fvck Trump. Fvck this blue dress-wearing MAGA ho. /3

Sunday's landing accident with Flight 8646 heading in to #LaGuardia happened as a direct result of removing too many air traffic controllers and TSA personnel, due to #Homendy and #Trump's ongoing pursuit in making too many demands with DHS while trying to keep most of its bureaucracy intact. /2
This is the b*tch in charge of America's #NTSB. Can Congress get rid of her? No. Not with our crappy checks and balances system. There is so little oversight of American government officials now that people just look the other way. These fuckers need to be removed. Homendy is a MAGA loyalist. /1
Do you see what I did there? Gentlemen don't tell.
I did really mean two other /hostile/ countries — not those countries in the way that I put it.
AI is a rip-off, even to technologists, these days. "They" are almost reading in literally every keystroke which Internet users type and deploy ai, too
At the rate we're going the Israelis or the Saudis are going to nuke installation sites at Fort Meade or Langley, Virginia where the CIA is stationed.
That is how much of a punk 47 is. Trump is not bad at playing both sides.
The other side might make The Donald regret coming at them, militarily.
...when I asked my Dad to clarify this in light of the HMO's screwing the workforce over with their own high premiums (this was during the 1990's when President Bill Clinton and his wife through her own effort were attempting to reform HC) my father didn't have any conclusive answers. C'est la vie?
My Dad was both a Reagan Republican and briefly a Trump supporter. After he got dementia bad he 100% disavowed Trump.
While my father was healthy he had what I would call a traditional "liberal Republican" view on healthcare. He thought that all people should have to work to pay for such expenses.
A known loser. Who gives a f? All of you Democrats have nothing until the midterms are over. Just wait this out and chill.
Donald Trump as Mrs. Doubtfire.
No. 47 as Mrs. Doubtfire
X dot com still stinks a lot. It's not just Elon Musk owning this platform that makes X bad. X dot com keeps changing the operating details of how the site runs which basically amounts to changing the fine print in the agreement that you sign with an email so they can make more money off of the users. The X admins refused to delete my old X dot com account on time because their single goal is to make money from me — at my own expense. I am aware now why it is that both Bluesky and mastodon rose higher in the social media charts. X admins and moderators live on a different planet. I was shadow banned for being left of center... not even really that left-wing. I followed and supported the user AngryStaffer. X dot com's bots didn't like that about me, even a little. To that I write: Fuck X dot com for life — and that's all I have to write about this for now.
I literally tried to do anything I could to remove my old X account.
X keeps changing the internals of their system. They do this so often that it's become a problem even for old 🐦⬛ adherents who followed the rules. Now even left-of-center folks are getting shit on by X dot com's poor logistics:
All this warring is over Trump trying to get in front of terrorists.
I found out through Claude dot ai that there are residual factions of terror: IRGC-Quds Force, ISIS, Hezbollah, and Kata'ib Hezbollah in Iraq.
Regardless—Trump is in over his head. And I think he's still being influenced by Elon.
...before they fully delete your X account, while taking the liberty to bill you the monthly charge if you signed up for a basic plan.
That's the typical crass billionaire who makes money from the public in any way possible.
This manner of deactivation, deletion, & billing in the interim is silly.
...I deactivated my one account on X because I was deliberately being shadow banned for identifying with leftist posters through liking them and encouraging them.
So the x dot com bots kept disabling my followers, etc.
There is no delete on X. You have to deactivate, and you must wait 30 days.../2
That's a succinct (accurate and gets right to the point) write-up about capitalism in a nutshell. I commend his idea to boycott by not spending money on sites like X unless you think it's important.
I learned that x dot com is predatory — not just with censoring users but also with its subs. /1
I have a weak theory that Elon Musk is still operating behind the scenes and helping Trump call the shots—despite withdrawing all of his DOGE Department lackeys and publicly parting ways with the Orange Idiot (POTUS).
If the price of oil goes up then more ppl will depend on EV's. Cause and effect.

By then, Trump had decided to go to war:
His first move was ending the US's role in JCPOA back in 2018.
His second move was bombing Iran's nuclear sites during 2025's Operation Midnight Hammer. They later said they had a victory but lied about overall successes to preserve Trump's status quo. /end
Jared Kushner was one half of the diplomatic power duo over in the Middle East who recently failed to arrive at a peace plan regarding Iran's nuclear materials and questions regarding the use of nuclear weapons in their country.
This was a feature and not a bug, regarding their planning for war. /4
No, I don't mean #Iran. I mean the US has nepotism at the highest levels who all try hard to do Trump's bidding with no questions asked.
I have proof. It is this m*therfucker. Charles Kushner is a disbarred attorney and he is the father of Jared Kushner. /3

Fast forward to 2026. Because of Donald Trump who is a known tool (and a horrendous person) on the world stage rushing in to fill a void left over by his illegitimate bombing of Tehran, the Iranians somehow reacted quicker. This is a government of nepotism... /2

I remember the "tie a yellow ribbon around a tree" days in #Oregon. My, how times have changed. We've gone from conservative fundamentalism to extremism — in no time at all.
Most PNW people in 1991 from these parts were for Bush No. 1's Iraq invasion to counter Saddam and his takeover of Kuwait. /1
