it is never not astonishing to me that an organization that houses data for a small social media site has fucking enemies, who cares this much about a PDS?

this exercise made me realize how many great 1998 games I missed out on, what a stacked year.

lol the number of warnings I've gotten about the rebuilds is getting comical, I love it. at least I know what I'm getting into at this point!

noralenderbe's review of Needy Streamer Overload | Backloggd (CW: self-harm, SI, addiction, sexual content, lots more probably, look at the Steam page, this game really goes for it) This is a game that tries to show you how bad things can get being an Internet ...

wrote a review on my Backloggd, it's already too long and I feel like I didn't touch on a bunch of the things I liked about the plot.

cleared the final ending over lunch, and i had a really good time with this one! going to be chewing on this one for a bit I think, and god the localization team really knocked it out of the park, the dialog feels so natural but it must have taken *so* much work.

god every one of these I see reminds me how stacked 1998 was. I'm not sure I'll do one because I haven't played most of the big games from this year lol I can't just pick MGS for every category

"Reading up on real-world history reveals a litany of sins, globally, none of which are ever addressed," he adds. "America, for example, is a nation built on stolen land, made rich through the labour of stolen people. Should we therefore boycott everything created by the USA? Do you realise your mobile phone contains cobalt, which is mined using child labour? Or that Apple's $2 billion acquisition of Israeli firm Q.ai now directly connects every iPhone to the genocide in Gaza? Or that large numbers of US politicians receive funding from AIPAC and thus are complicit in the Gaza genocide? Are you boycotting paying your taxes because of this?"

Szczepaniak's statement after the "tyranny of virtue" quip is honestly more telling. It's the "yet you live in a society, curious" tone but also, yes: every fucking thing he lists is a major fucking problem we should take more seriously, boycotting being the very least we could do re: each example

that's so fair, it is overlong like a lot of Key VNs, but some of those routes were really memorable, I think about them a lot. I look forward to your thoughts when you get to it!

wow i had no idea the manga released before the show, I always assumed it started afterwards. and now I'm really curious about the EoE stuff because yeah I much preferred the show's take even if it was a bit messy, would love if it hews closer to that.

A ★★ review of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (2009) A really frustrating movie on multiple levels, and I've got a few specific things I hated about it which I'll go into below, but overall just found it to be a mess, simultaneously incomprehensible in ...

14. Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance / Hideaki Anno

a bit of a disaster, and I already wrote far too much about it on my Letterboxd which you can see here:

thanks lol, already committed to watching all four with a friend, so i'm going to need it!

but yeah i'll definitely check out the manga, i've gotten a few recs for it now

12 hours ago 0 0 1 0

I didn't, no. I watched the show + EoE in 2019 and have been meaning to get to the rebuilds eventually, knowing that they're a sort of reboot/sequel. not sure I'll find time to check out the manga tbh, but I'm glad it adds more context

but more fool me, I suppose, because we're going to watch 3.0 anyway. hoping that this one being a bigger departure from the show will help

tonight I watched Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance with a good friend of mine and god what a frustrating mess of a movie, in almost every way giving me the opposite of what I wanted from an "Evangelion but different" rerun

Ranking the top 101 Nintendo games: No. 32, Mother 3 Thank Nintendo for developing this lovely, thoughtful game, but they aren't the reason you can play it in English.

I didn't write a big thing for Mother 3's anniversary, because I already wrote a big thing for Mother 3 years back. Everything within still applies. One of the best bits of storytelling Nintendo has ever done. A tale of loneliness, selfishness, greed, and the destructiveness of capitalism's cycles.

aw, don't be too hard on yourself Jenny. it's incredibly difficult, and there's no one correct path to take, you still have to find your own. even if you're not as far as you's like to be, you're still further ahead than where you started
