The Two Weeks When Luigi Died
Last timestamp of a file (gfxmain.c) that has Luigi's code active as part of the program: February 6, 1996
Earliest timestamp of a file (shade.c) that has Luigi's code commented out, signifying he is no longer being developed: February 20, 1996
This means that the idea of including Luigi in Super Mario 64 was abandoned in these two weeks.
-By the way, what happened to Luigi?
Miyamoto: Well... until February, he was in the game. (laughs)
This is also completely consistent with a statement by Shigeru Miyamoto in a June 1996 interview.

According to internal files and interviews, Luigi has been part of Super Mario 64 for 85% of its development time. New insights from development data allow us to narrow down when exactly he was abandoned, being the two weeks between February 6, 1996 and February 20, 1996.

Fluxer API, and Fluxer Gateway, and Fluxer Web/Client are shown as being in Unhealthy states having a lot of red indicator lines compared to green indicator lines.

Ok so um, I might've ***accidentally*** DDoSed the main @fluxer.app instance by @'ing an entire Discord community with an invite link.

*oops*

That's a lotta red:

Okay so I finally got around to reading the @fluxer.app dev's (long!) blog post and... his take on federation is literally the exact same thing I independently suggested.

10/10 this guy knows what he's doing. This is going to work.

KDE Free Qt Foundation The KDE Free Qt Foundation has the purpose of securing the availability of the Qt toolkit

Also wondering if a solution similar to what The Qt Group (and its predecessors) and KDE have could work for Fluxer in the long-term:

@w8l: My best-faith assumption is that Hampus thought it was necessary for monetisation.

Hampus: it's necessary to be able to provide a commercial license for internal use only at companies who cannot use copyleft licenses due to legal requirements

Google seems to be in the process of splitting up Android and Pixels along with moving towards treating other Android-based platforms as their competitors instead of their partners. Pixels retain first class alternate OS support with Android 16 firmware so it's not about that.

9 months ago 35 2 4 0

In May, we began preparing to port to Android 16 despite our most active senior developer responsible for leading OS development being unavailable (bsky.app/profile/grap...). Android 16 launched today and porting is going to be significantly more difficult than we were expecting.

10 months ago 110 17 3 3

Unfortunately, Android has made changes which will make it much harder for us to port to Android 16 and future releases. It will also make adding support for new Pixels much more difficult. We're likely going to need to focus on making GrapheneOS devices sooner than we expected.

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
