I often think of something a hobbit once told me: "There is good in this world and it is worth fighting for."

If you're trying to justify accessibility on a spreadsheet, you're doing it wrong. Accessibility isn't about numbers. Accessibility is because everyone should have access.

Sadly, all "Senator" Murray knows how to do is speak. She is utterly unqualified to meet this moment (or any contemporary moment). It's time for someone new. #ResistOrResign

Signed,

A Constituent.

Civilizations are made of cultures. Cultures are made of people. And people are made of nervous systems trying to feel safe.

Humans are essentially a nervous system piloting a bio-mech life support system. Happy Saturday!

If Back to the Future came out today, Marty would travel back to 1995 and forward to 2055.

ABA says, "you are not valued, respected, or safe as your fully authentic self," and that is why Autistic people oppose it.

Imagine if I drove over to Microsoft's campus and started rearranging furniture, hanging new art, painting the walls, putting ads on the side of their buildings. I bet they'd feel how I feel now. I bet they wouldn't like it. 3/3

It took me a couple minutes to remember that Microsoft calls it a lock screen. And it broke my already struggling concentration on what I was doing. 2/3

A day or two ago, some new things appeared on the Windows lock screen. Weather, news, etc. Completely out of the blue. Microsoft did not ask for permission. It did not seek my consent. And they provided no easy mechanism to remove them. 1/3

The answer to, "Why are things like this?" isn't satisfying because it forces us to move beyond demonization to empathy.

2/2 Over time, that avoidance often makes things worse. The key is recognizing that taking action and reclaiming our agency not only helps resolve the threat—it also moves us through the fear in a far more powerful way.

It’s a natural part of human psychology to downplay threat with, “It’s not that bad. It’ll be okay. It’ll all work out.” This soothes the scared parts of us by avoiding discomfort, but it also postpones the action needed to address the threat. 1/2

We've got to stop calling them "elites". Because it turns out they're not really elite at anything except exploitation.

One of the patterns I've noticed is that western cultures really, REALLY like assigning morality to other people and their behaviors.

(Other cultures may too, but I'm not informed enough to speak on them.)

Change takes sacrifice. If no one is willing to sacrifice, to be even temporarily uncomfortable, then nothing is going to change.

Behaviorism leads to external compliance but internal dysregulation.

Co-regulation builds long-term emotional resilience.

I don't know what it's going to take to shake them out of their stupor, but the message to elected Dems has to be "Resist, Resign, or Be Replaced". We need leaders who can and will meet this crisis.

Resist or resign!

And what everyone else said.

You sent a letter? Urging? I could have done that. You're a United States Senator. Please start acting like it.

Or perhaps 20+ years is enough and it's time for someone who is able to meet this moment.

Resist or resign.

What we think is "human nature" is often just unhealed #trauma on a civilizational scale.

I read the blog post, but I'm not sure I understand the why or the benefit versus MSTest. Is it faster? Solve common testing problems?

The only languages they speak are money and labor. That is how we must communicate our discontent.
