I remember applying early-decision to my preferred college and being accepted before I ever set foot on campus, and being considered weird for that. I did a prospective student ("prospie") visit that spring, but it was already a done deal. This was in 1999.

OK friends, I'm in need of suggestions. Looking at this through a lens of chaotic whimsy, what are some reasons why a person would pull a fire alarm to clear a dorm building? I need to crowd-source some whimsy, so I come to the internet (Gods help me). What do y'all think? #chaoticwhimsy

For a while, our weekly game night had GM Dave, Scruffy Dave, and... There was at least one more Dave, I think, though I think he only came once in a while.

20 years ago today, @gamethyme.bsky.social and I decided to sign some paperwork and tie our lives together. Since then we've been through 3 moves, 4 jobs, and the loss of 3 cats; health issues, triumphs, failures, & everything in between. I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else.
No - speed-dating and taking bets for the Westminster Dog Show.
Holy crap lions I made it to round two! Can't wait to see the feedback for my story and get the ball rolling for the next one!!
I can't remember from last time I did this - when @nycmidnight.bsky.social lists the day results of a round are to be announced, do they mean 11:59pm Eastern that night (meaning, do I need to sit and wait until tonight to find out that I didn't make round 2)?
A short stack of paperback books titled "The Infinite Library" by Stephanie Wood Franklin. The title is written in white letters against a red background on the top half of the cover; the author name is in white letters on a black band just below the red background. Below the author name is a photo of books on bookshelves arranged into a hole showing another room on the other side.
I promised myself when I was a kid that someday, there would be a book with my name on it. Today's that day.
In 2020, I started writing about characters from different books defending a library of all narrative.
Last year, I finished draft zero.
Today, that book is available for free on Royal Road, and in eBook and paperback on Amazon.

Tulsi de Leche, which I have described as "therapy-stopping good" (I literally stopped mid-session to race to my therapist about how good it is)
Stede's Orange Marmalade, my favorite orange black tea
Sweaters & Stars, a hug in a mug
Friends, it's finally happened - I've finished my book and put it up on Royal Road for free! Go, read, share, and (hopefully) enjoy! www.royalroad.com/fiction/1014...
For Traumatic Backstory Reasons, I've been afraid of turning 45. My friends helped me reframe it by helping me throw a Triple Quinceañera today, with a gobliñata representing the brain goblins I fight everyday and snackle boxes with names and googly eyes. They are the absolute best.
I made the mistake of saying, out loud, that this week was going to be the first "normal" week on the schedule for the last couple of months. One day I'll learn.
I have A Mystery! I got an interesting piece of mail with a sticker with several polygons (looking like a set of gaming dice) and a bit of cardstock that I can fold into a D20. No note, no name on the return address, which is a campus apartment for Central WA University. I am intrigued!
Congratulations!!
She slid a note across the counter to the tailor, refusing to make eye contact. Would they refuse her order?
The tailor unfolded the paper, raising an eyebrow before nodding. "I see. What kind of pockets?"
She looked up, eyes bright with longing. "All of them."
I trembled as I opened the door, sure something terrible hid in the old craft room. Another curse rang through the air as the creature came into focus. I squinted at the long, curling strands emanating around the spirit.
"How did I lose a stitch on that row? I counted three times!"
Who me, hyperfixate on last night's half time show? Bah! Also, read this thread, it's fabulous and talks about a lot of the little details those of us not from PR missed.
heads up to the american news media: I do not care what racists thought of the super bowl halftime show
As I set dessert in front of the judges, I hum a few bars, and the fiddle-shaped cake turns red and begins to hiss. It was supposed to turn gold & play Johnny's part, but I think I used the wrong kind of cocoa powder in the devil's food cake.
Oh, dear.
New blog post! The Great Discworld Re-Read continues (in spite of *gestures at the world at large*). This time we've got Eric and Moving Pictures: insertscenehere.blogspot.com/2026/02/grea...

In November 2020, I started writing a book set in the Infinite Library. Yesterday, five years and a bit later, I finished draft zero.
Meanwhile, let me tell you a story: the Infinite Library, Chapter 4 Part 1 youtu.be/qWmmtAPY2hw?...
