the thirty second lightsaber duel between maul, daki and devon is better intentioned, better choreographed, better lit and has emotional stakes underpinning the fight that the duel is an extension of and is everything people claim duel of the fates to be and it just washes the floor with it

shadow lord fucking rips, it's one of the most engaging star wars stories produced in the last two decades, and it's wild to me that this all started with what people call the best lightsaber fight and is, in reality, a flashy laser show between three characters who don't know one another's names

i've had a pretty big year, i had a pretty great birthday, i know it's a bit early for end-of-year reflections, but i took a lot of time and did a lot of work on myself and my relationships and i'm looking forward to continuing that in the new year, especially in relation to my creative work.

hi, the clone wars was a good show. i'm very excited that i get to follow up the series finale of the clone wars with the series premiere of the bad batch, one of the best hours of star wars ever made.

i hope the rest of the bad batch isn't so underwhelming this time around, but this combo rules.

i just finished the bad batch arc of the final season of clone wars, so i only have the final arc to go, and it's just incredible to me how fundamentally more important to the fabric of the ongoing narrative to star wars that show is when compared to the prequel movies themselves

it just has literally everything the actual prequel movies lack: drama, emotional conflict and stakes, characterisation and emotional growth and change, action, adventure, sweeping romance, heartbreak, fucking... Story.
