The politics of climate change are complex. You’ve summed it up well. I’m hoping the Hormuz and looming Bab el Mandeb crises will knock some sense. Last week I was in France and I breezed smugly past queues of people at the petrol stations, on the way to the vehicle recharger. Wot range anxiety?
“Keep moving. Nothing to see here”
Good idea. I’ve largely moved on from my DSLR to the phone camera, which is almost as good. Also, it’s worn out and I can’t afford to replace it. My Olympus 1N still works - perhaps I should go back to E6. Old style slide photography teaches a lot about framing.
On top of everything else
@doctorcdf.bsky.social Its interesting that the words “Trump” and “unhinged” sit together so frequently in social media posts.
@garde24.bsky.social Curie got tangled up in transuranics, like Fermi, and missed discovering fission. Einstein won the Swedish prize for the photoelectric effect, not relativity. Which was more important? Probably relativity, which is still passing gravitational wave tests 100 yrs later.
He’s proper poorly. It’s easy to follow the mission with a largeish amateur telescope in the back garden and listen to their transmissions as well. Amateurs could do this during the Apollo missions over 50 yrs ago.
Iran will never forgive America for this. They will still be angry about it in 500 yrs. Trump has no understanding, not the slightest notion, of what he has done. And he has no comprehension of what Iran might be able to do in 10-15 yrs. www.bbc.com/news/live/c5...
Ah, excellent news. They’ve been looking for somewhere big enough to incarcerate Trump and his cronies for a while. The Orange Man of Alcatraz. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Here’s Moonlight. With you all the way.
You can’t take your eyes off them for a moment
This cat has a paw in the tuna loin futures market. I suspect insider trading but she’s sayin’ nowt
About time. The battery problem can be addressed by installing neighbourhood vanadium flow batteries which are bigger than Li but could connect to a couple of dozen houses. No need to meter individually because it’s storing free solar. There’ll be a Li shortage soon. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Man…..
Precedent?
Trumps comments as usual say a lot more about himself than they do about Mueller www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Those shadow fleet tankers are so dodgy it probably blew itself up. Possibly with the aid of a crewman lighting a roll up.
No doubt eyeing up the birdies with predatory interest.
My first Beethoven purchase was on the Philips Fontana label. It was on one of those funny black discs with a hole in the middle. 5 on one side and 6 on the other. 7 shillings and sixpence in 1967. I still have it but it’s a bit worn out.
A fine town. I once drank a Heineken with a Dutch friend at that very café

The fact that the only ally Trump has been able to draw into this was is Israel speaks volumes about both regimes www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cn...
Nothing wrong with that. And an encouraging purr, of course. We would be nowhere without that.
Elections are never won but only lost.
All the wartime leaders were flawed. Churchill and Stalin were alcoholics, and FDR had his own health problems. Hitler and his cronies were demonstrably insane. But there’s no excuse for this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Much enjoyed the Ireland - Thankyou. I was a huge fan of Richard Hickox. His recording of Elgar’s “Spirit of England” was superb. Most conductors take it too slow. He died far too young 😰
