It's also good that the committee is putting everyone on notice that the perception of an act as political is what matters. It cuts off any debate over if it was a politically motivated act or not. Also as always FIG needing to rewrite their rules in reaction to an event.

This may not be satisfying but I think it's probably right given a first year senior not yet 16 who has never competed internationally before and if they had gone nuclear on her valid questions would be asked about Onofriichuk.

Sofiia Ilteriakova has been given an official warning by the FIG Ad Hoc Committee for her behavior on the Sofia World Cup podium. A rules clarification for podium behavior is in the works to avoid future incidents.
