Overall, a good read.
This does have some dark elements: SA mentioned from the previous book, gore, military fic, death etc
But I personally feel it's a bit lighter than Wolf.e
Oh, there's this small/minor character mentioned from time to time, where we the readers are unaware of his fate.

Pretty good. Kind of like a slow burn but the wick is still on fire & burning until BOOM!
Bc of Layla's occupation - there's a lot of skinship that's quite intimate & yoga - to help w/ Sean's back due to an old injury when his old days

The built up btwn Layla x Sean - the longing & pinning was pretty good & you see how good they are for each other. Sean helps Layla seek freedom & comfort, where Layla literally gives Sean light in his darkness.
The things this man would do for her - even finding the man who unlived her parents

after serving, he decides to help his brothers & sisters in arms to be cared for after their time of serving - a contrast to Layla thinking he's nothing but a reckless violent man.
The attraction is strong when they first meet. Sean falls for her first & 'fate' wow. Hint: 'Dove' & 'Layla'

The men in his family had a military/marine background so he's served as well so he has his demons & scars to bare.
He has photographic memory - omg it does not help VA is Aiden Snow who also voiced Alex in 'Twisted Love' who had hyperthymesia

Get yourself a man like Sean who looks at you like how he does w/ Layla. He cleans her house, cooks for her, fixes her lock & even her mom's old car.
Sean is a morally gray man. Sometimes you need to do bad stuff for there be to some good.
Layla learns there's more to Sean besides the HOH

Layla is such a delight, sassy & strong character. She wants independence & to break free like a Dove.
The symbolism of 'Dove' for the both of them is beautiful
The plot is quite simple:

2. Finding out the Mystery behind the death of Layla's parents
