Oh! It's this area-- and there's a couple of statues here the kitsune hangs around. Apparently it just runs around so maybe I was having an emulation issue 😅
They're in Kyoto, in my experience they just flicker around/move so fast you only see them for a couple frames at a time. Maybe there's circumstances where they run around normally but I've only ever seen them flicker around
