I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

It's been so interesting to watch this unfold. Barnes & Noble and other big book chains shut indies down in the the 1990s (and on) and then Amazon came along and ate up all the book market share. Now people tired of big corporations are creating demand for more indies

I'm going to run for president in 2028 and one of my Day 1 promises is I'm going to hire a couple big bald guys whose only job is to hurl corrupt pols out of public buildings like bouncers ejecting surly drunks, and then yell "and STAY out" at them as they tumble down the steps.

Wait wait I havent told you about the best part! Disney just fired 1000 of their employees, mostly artists, and replaced them with AI that copies their art. What a time to be alive, fellas!

The degradation of society:
1. Celebrating the k!lling of a CEO
2. Cheering on warehouse arsons
3. Making heroes out of people who attempt political violence
You can be outraged at the system and still not glorify violence. These aren't wins. This is a society losing its moral compass.
[Coming from a liberal btw]

I don’t know how people keep forgetting that workers rights were entirely written in blood and the capital class had to be threatened with violence before they agreed to things like 8 hour working days and 2 day weekends.

Let's have a pope who's strong on nuclear weapons. Full 40k, a gilded baroque nuke in St. Peters. Replace that obelisk with an ICBM launcher, and call it the Holy Sword of Azrael. Jesuits with rangefinders.

"Transubstantiate this," mutters Leo as he turns the Key of St. Peter. "Fiat fucking lux."
