Meme of Homer Simpson crawling into a photo of Jesus’ tomb, saying “Jesus Christ, my ass! It’s probably Milhouse.”
It’s probably Milhouse.

It had been established in the comics by that point in that he had a compulsion to do so. There’s a scene in the ‘66 movie (often edited out of tv broadcasts for time) where Frank delivers a great, unhinged rant about his need to riddle.

William Powell in a suit and tie but wearing a beret, stands in a doorway in a black and white image from the 1937 Powell-Loy flick, Double Wedding.
Watching Double Wedding (1937), which asks the question of how you make the usually-dapper William Powell a bohemian. You put him in a beret, of course.
