Still so happy with my little replica

"The year is the 13th century"
That's... That's not how that works...
Kind of a shame, the concept seems neat, but I'll just wait for the full release of Legend of Khiimori
I hope recovery goes well for you with such good distractions!
I think it's when you remembered to prep your poolish [yeasty proto-dough] so it does its thing overnight and you get to make fancy bread today
another thing which irks me about the Cis People Taking Hormones columns is trans folk have long said "maybe a lot of folk would be happier with a slightly different hormonal setup to what their body produces"
A ton of house martins flickering around our place for the hour before sunset, after an afternoon in the park thick with cherry blossoms
I can't not be corny about it because it was so magical
The "chimera selector" A device made of 3 paper cubes that can rotate. 4 faces of each cube have a part of a creature, head, torso and tail.

I made a "chimera selector" out of cardboard.
I will draw temporary tattoos on people for an event so it is kind of my flash sheet.
Can you get her to eat a treat on a set of scales? Or if you have a human one, weigh human and then human + cat?

That came out so nice! Turmeric is not very lightfast so might bleach pretty quick, but you can always redo it
Also unlike us, you might actually take it camping 😅
Not as bad as I expected tbh! Thank you for the link, I couldn't find anywhere with any colours. And hopefully yours will bring you much joy!
Oh my god this would be perfect for my partner, need to see if I can get my hands on one
blurry shot of two teenage grey herons looking like the wind has blown out the one thought they had in their head, leaving them with only ridiculous head fluff
Mandatory new profile picture
An adult grey heron standing in its nest among budding willows, with two teenage chicks squabbling under its feet. They're most of the way out of the baby fluff, but still a little bit remains in particular on their heads, for a truly ridiculous dinosaur muppet look
The chicks are yelling and making physically improbable shapes. The parent is ignoring them.
The parent has moved to the other side of the nest, where their dangly chest feathers blow majestically in the wind. In contrast, the babies' head fluff is ruffled against the grain, making them look even more silly.
The muppets emerge! 🪶
Oh no, won't someone think of the chil... Hmmmmm

Interesting! Many of the people I talk to/show it to here are charmed by the machine - compact and rounded! Friend! - and enjoy the playing-at-science aspect. But I suppose that's usually ppl with some context already rather than full newbies (or else our own enthusiasm forbids shows of hesitation)

Happy #portfolioday ! I'm an animation artist and illustrator who specializes in detailed lineart. I'm currently looking to take on more trad pub illustration work, especially fairytales and classics (my dream is to illustrate the Divine Comedy or Sleeping Beauty)!
Lavender Menace, Scotland’s only queer books archive, has launched an appeal to raise £45,000, as well as calling for community support, in order to continue their work preserving LGBTQ+ literary history 👇 #BookSky

A digital illustration of four medieval helm designs each split into four for linocutting and stamping purposes. From the top left corner clockwise: Houndskull, with a trans flag coloured plume. Armet, with a trans flag coloured plume. Frogmouth, with a trans flag coloured plume. Great Helm, with a trans flag coloured plume.
How are you finding the colourwork so far? I've coveted the pattern but unique rows all the way sounds like it'll require a lot of brainpower
Pattern is Born Slippy by Beata Jezek for Hedgehog Fibres, yarn Gamercrafting (blue) and Mothy & the Squid (white/rainbow)
A knitted shawl in progress draped over a spinning wheel to show off a slip stitch pattern of a white yarn with rainbow splotches on a medium blue. It long and narrow, with the tip just out of frame, with sunlight hitting it from the right
I also accidentally knit half a shawl over the last week because I missed having an easy project - promptly fucked up my wrists real good, so the other half will be much much slower
Omg is that the beowulf socks
A rock almost completely covered in moss and a few lichens. Some of the moss is a deep green. Some of it is a lighter green, and some of it is a silvery green, and it makes the rock look velvet-y.
More lichen-on-rock action, this one’s a blue green shield lichen with some moss above it and then a patch of grass to the side that has your normal green grass color, but also some red tips
A rock with a jumbled mix of moss and lichen in various shades of dark green light, green and blue green
A tall rock covered in moss and lichen with prickly pear growing on top of it. The signs of the rock are nearly covered in the pale blue green variety of lichen.
Moss, moss, moss!
Lichen! Lichen!
Floral jumper sleeve with a new cuff attached, with the previous one above it, both in a green cutting mat. The old one is off-white and worn through at several spots, the new one a pale heathered green
Whole jumper showing new cuffs, neckline and bottom rib. The bottom hem is a bit wobbly, but nothing is terribly stretched out, and it looks ready for a few more years of wear
I am super pleased to have replaced the terribly worn hems and cuffs on this jumper! It's not perfect but less wonky than I feared given I have very little experience with machine sewing knits, and no serger. I was so worried about the neckline in particular and that came out great!
