It also goes into account that projects in India usually pay a LOT less than what I'd get for a project from international clients. 😭😭😭😭 But I don't have much of the latter at this moment. And making do with lower paying projects is difficult most times.

How is it I'm working on multiple books (SUPER GRATEFUL) and it still doesn't match that my bank balance is so low. I wish all books and projects paid the deserved amount that goes into it; and no slow payment cycles or delays. 😭 And that as an artist, there were possible savings to have. 😭

As a comic writer who hires artists for my projects, I've had the privilege of looking over comic artist portfolios in person and online.

I thought it might be helpful to share some of what I look for as I go through portfolios in order to help those of you who are newer.

This is so helpful! I've been wanting to make new comics to add to my portfolio and I'll consciously keep these points in mind in the chance of getting hired for comics more. Thank you! 😊

I'm painting again! 🎉

So far it seems that wearing cotton gloves under nitrile plus long sleeves is working to curb my allergy, hooray! For now I'm painting a bunch of silly little things to retrain my hand to work while wearing gloves, but I'm getting better each day and I'm feeling hopeful! 💛
