A similar artwork, but with the roles reversed so that Thomas is the one kneeling, while James is holding his face and kissing the top of his head. Thomas has one arm sneaking around James’ waist and one reaching up so he is clinging to his shoulder, his face pressed into James. Once more their eyes are closed. James hair and beard resemble Flint’s, and there is a wreath of lavender resting on his head. His body has the silhouette of his long black coat, but it’s filled with shapes of gold ingots and coins and a dagger. Thomas’ body is a greyish white shift, covered in red splashes that have golden centres, and which shift into blood flowers of the same colour on the dark floor around him. In between those grow large white lilies as well. Behind them is a similar light shape, with golden lines of waves, and the rest of the background is a very dark gold, almost brown.
The second to reflect their loss and despair, and James’ fervent wish of having been able to save Thomas. 😭
