ICYMI: A teenage girl says he sexually assaulted her for five years, beginning when she was SEVEN YEARS OLD.
His sentence, under a plea deal: 180 days in jail, 200 hours of community service, and eight years probation. He does NOT have to register as a sex offender.

Kids ask if I’m our daughter’s dad, but that’s fine. I breastfed for 3 years. And I talk about it because I hope to break this idea of what a mom is. I’m still me, as butch and nonbinary as ever. I have a different appreciation for my body and less animosity because it created out awesome kid.
When we realized adoption wasn’t feasible, and my wife’s genetics/health was poor, that I had to figure out if I could handle pregnancy.
I researched butches and pregnancy. I found very little, but what I found was enough to know I could on my own terms.
So adorable!
That’s an unfortunate skill to learn.

So excited to have started Writing Academy 2! I am a writer who needs community to fully enjoy the writing process. Creativity is collaborative for me. It’s why I miss talking to my screenwriters friends like @anthonypittore.me and @diffwashere.bsky.social. Collaboration is invigorating!

Improved isn’t gone. My energy levels improved but are not back to normal. It took years and then three medications to regain full use of my voice. And my long covid was relatively minor.
This is entirely down to the influence of the LGB Alliance. One of their current lobby campaigns is to get government bodies and businesses to exclusively use the acronym LGB.

Part if the reason I don’t use Bluesky is because I forget it exists. The other is because I followed accounts I thought I ‘should’ but that create a negative timeline.
The ‘shoulds’ are so insidious in my life.
Time to clean up Bluesky so I see things that inspire me.
Hahahahahah the other day kiddo asked if I ever ate crayons. I haven’t. She said I was missing out! Apparently she’s making up for my lack of crayon eating!

The reports with respect to the imminent removal to Libya show, inter alia, Philippine, Vietnamese and Laotian class members being set for removal without any reasonable fear screening, let alone a fifteen-day window to file a motion to reopen with the immigration court to contest any negative reasonable fear determination. See Exhibits B, C, D. In one reported case, "[U.S. Immigration and Customs Officers (ICE)] officers at the South Texas Detention Facility gathered 1 Vietnamese detainee, along with 5 others (including 1 from Laos) into a room and told them that they needed to sign a document agreeing to be deported to Libya. When they all refused, they were each put in a separate room and cuffed in (basically, solitary) in order to get them to sign it." Exhibit B.
According to litigators, on Tuesday, at one detention center in Texas, ICE gathered together 1 Vietnamese, 1 Lao, and 4 other people in detention and ordered them to sign paperwork agreeing to be sent to Libya.
All 6 refused, so ICE handcuffed them and threw them into solitary.
My favorite kind of sapphic romance is when it's taking place against a backdrop of mystery and suspense, a case to be solved, a villain to hunt. If you're like me...definitely check out the top 100 of LGBTQ mystery & suspense, the Bookfinder on I Heart SapphFic, and (tbc)

I absolutely adore Becky Chambers' storytelling. I don't know why, because most of the time, almost nothing happens, yet I can't get enough! It's as if the storytelling is so subtle my autistic brain gives up trying to explain and just enjoys these slices of life.
Any similar authors to try?
Working late with a fast-approaching bedtime so of course I remember social media exists.
Recent audiobooks are all Clare Lydon. Don't Marry Me at Christmas, It Started With a Kiss, and Change of Heart. They were all excellent, quick listens. #sapphiclit #sapphicbooks (Do hashtags work here? lol)
Thank you, Ocean!
Perfect choice!

You have my admiration for getting in the water at all. I love watching surfing but am too terrified to learn. Plus I’m not a good swimmer and I try to avoid risking my life these days. :-)
That’s was a big fear when we visited the beach in Galveston. Sharks and jellyfish, but I think the jellyfish were more dangerous.

I am officially working on the sequel to Rising From Ash!
Not rushing this because these are characters that people (and I) love. There will be realistic and challenging issues that I need time to get right. But it’s happening!
