Sunshine Mariners.
My favorite forms of entertainment are ones that make me think "This place is lousy with Pinkertons."
The Mariners now have two series wins. They've been at home over Houston, who they've dominated head-to-head since 2023, and at home over Texas, which has considered T-Mobile Park its personal house of horrors the last few years.
Now the M's need to start playing like themselves vs. everybody else.
They don't call it the Palm Springs of Washington for nothing.
Oh it's the sunshine Mariners this weekend ๐ช
Two runs on one hit? Seems almost illegal.
I'd leave J.P. in the leadoff spot until he stops hitting there. Don't really care for Cal hitting second, especially when he's not in 2025 GOAT catcher mode. Have Donovan hit second when he's healthy, move Cal back to cleanup, and Naylor can hit sixth until morale improves.
That bullpen is frightening.
Padres good
I did not see Cole Young, defensive maestro coming
"He's so important."
J.P. Crawford showed exactly why he's so valuable for the #Mariners with his performance in the four-game sweep of the rival Astros.

Go Zags.
The 2026 Seattle Mariners have won a series.
Astros pitching is capital B Bad.
Always fun when I'm typing out something like this and then the TV broadcast makes the same point right as I'm about to hit send. I watch games on mute a lot and assume there are plenty of times where it seems I'm just parroting the broadcast analysis.
I'd give Josh Naylor a pretty big assist on Logan Gilbert's pickoff of Altuve. Little fake got him moving the wrong direction at the exact right time.
The J.P. actually stands for Walk Off Crawford
The Mariners scored three runs without a ball leaving the infield.
I know Cal Ripken was the Ironman and all, but him being the all-time hits leader against the Mariners, who were never in the same division as the Orioles, is wild.
The Mariners will be fine once they start scoring runs. And they're going to score runs.
But... they should start scoring runs.
Rob Refsnyder, outfielder.
I went to a game last week that he started. He struck out and I hear a guy behind me mumble "great signing." A few innings later, he struck out again, and same guy mumbles "great signing."
It's tough being a platoon guy on a new team early in the season.
Well that Randy Arozarena flyout that seemed like a homer off the bat is a good reminder that Globe Life Field has the second-lowest park factor in MLB (higher than only T-Mobile, of course) and ranks three points lower than T-Mobile in HR factor.
I will never get over the suites behind home plate at the Rangers' ballpark. Just forcing people at home to watch dudes chowing down on wings and people staring at their phones rather than appreciating that they get the rare opportunity to watch major league pitches 20 feet from their face.
Well that was a gosh darn great AB by Cal Raleigh against Jacob deGrom of all people. Dude couldn't buy a non-bloop hit coming into tonight and yet worked his way into getting a meatball from a two-time Cy Young winner he was hitless against for his career, and he absolutely crushed it.
Just checked and yeah, his call was way better than the Angels TV call.
