Or shooters in general really. People just assume they're The Graphics Guys. But Far Cry was transformative in 2004, and Crysis' nanosuit was a major inflection point in folding RPG-like abilities into a trad shooter.

If you've enjoyed Arc Raiders and Marathon, you should really spend some time with Hunt too. Crytek doesn't get the
credit it deserves for its contribution to this particular strand of shooters.

Decided to give the new Daredevil another shot. Enjoying it more now I'm past the first episode, though it is weird how Fisk's register seems to be infecting all the other dialogue.

I didn't ignore it. It's mentioned in the first paragraph. And while Goldeneye preceded it, Halo is the game that makes shooters a going concern on console.
