Ray tracing is short for Raymond Tracing, the inventor of the technology. Graphics card companies have retroactively tried to pretend that "ray" refers to light rays so they can bury the pioneering work of Mr. Tracing and avoid paying him royalties.

The way he did it, you’re not even getting the benefits of IDA. This is “pipe the binary straight through objdump SH2”-tier.
It looks like the assembly output is now supposedly correct, but piping a ROM image through a disassembler (remember, this is just .word->asm, no symbols yet!) does not require writing dozens of bash+python scripts, and that methodology is a gigantic red flag even before LLMs are involved.
The output of said disassembler could not be reassembled into a 100% bit-accurate ROM matching the input, so what's the fucking point?!
The recent Virtua Racing 32X "static recompilation" that was going around a few weeks ago was 100% hallucinated bullshit. There were 2 source trees, one that would pointlessly "rebuild" the original ROM from millions of .word directives, and another that pipes it through a slopped-out disassembler.
Does “Final Mission”/“S.C.A.T.” count as being set in NYC given the European title of “Action in New York”? Enquiring minds want to know.
This feels Nichibutsu as hell, I’m going with UFO Robo Dangar

My rough memory of the per-track credits is that I found I preferred the stuff Kawashima to Koshiro. I wish the former got more credit!
Capcom really missed out on a great opportunity to port Mega Man X to X68000 because it could have been called ロックマンエックス エックス ろくまんはっせん
I NEED you all to see this fuckass company logo from the Salamander OVA laserdisc
You can also despawn it by hitting it exactly 255 times with a star, then leaving and returning.
There's that, but there's also a reliance on undefined/implementation defined behavior in the library code shipped by Aquaplus. GCC 2.x doesn't exploit it, so things work. One such example is a lack of "volatile" keyword in many places where it's needed.
I looked into using this a while ago and ended up using the original compiler binaries under WINE, partially out of laziness and partially because the P/ECE library code is absolutely filled with UB and will break under stronger optimizations. I'm curious if anyone had luck with that GCC 3 fork.
dang, the final lost MST3K episode was JUST found at a garage sale, and now it's on YouTube for all to enjoy. watch and be astounded that a 38-year-old VHS recording held up so nicely: youtu.be/u_Z4hnagGLE?...

A cel from the Smoking 'Sonic Says' segment, from 'Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog'.

Libble Rabble
Left = bad gamer lighting (it's dark, you cannot see Libble Rabble on the screen)
Right = good gamer lighting (Libble Rabble is on the screen)
This wasn’t one of my favorite specials, but easily one of Gregg’s finest outfits. Tim’s irritation at the flapping wings only made it better.
I've got Psycho-Nics Oscar Fever
They already patched out the Quesarito at most locations, I wish I could roll back.
Interesting, I've never actually tried real scoring, I need to read up on how that actually works. Definitely agreed on the bosses, they're easily my least favorite part of the game (in spite of how cool some of them look).
Very true, though I'd suggest this upload with better FM emulation and without the terrible reverb effect: www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-TC...
Glad to see Viole`n`t Moon singled out as it's a truly incredible track, but I've never been able to get into the gameplay. The shot capture concept is neat, but IMO the beginning drags and then around stage 4 it becomes way too hard but also still not that interesting? Maybe I should try again.
This but Castlevania and Igarashi.
"Mustum playa videogameus" translated as "Must play videogames" by Google Translate.
The funniest thing about modern AI-powered Google Translate is that it will interpret any fake-sounding Latin
And by Masahiro "Kajapon" Kajihara, no less. The guy is responsible for PMD, one of the most popular music drivers on PC-88 and PC-98.
I said "oh my god" out loud the first time it used that incredible focus change/blur animation shown in that screenshot. For all the issues I had with the writing (specifically the pacing of the epilogue), the art and music kept me going.
And a big thank you for helping me appreciate some of the details I missed!
