The Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC) has not been provided the resources it needs to succeed.

CPCSC underwent an evaluation by PSPC, which I unpack to analyze the program's development and current implementation.

I think it's about use of AI (LLMs) by FBI to surveil American communications without a warrant

A black and white annotated map published in TIME magazine after the incident showing the path of the EC-121 from Naval Air Station Atsugi, Japan, northwest across the Sea of Japan to North Korea. North Korea's 12-mile territorial limit is demarcated, as is the location of the attack and seizure of the USS Pueblo off the coast of North Korea on January 22-23, 1968. The number of US troops stationed in Japan and South Korea is also noted.

On Saturday, a U.S. boat strike killed another five people, leaving one survivor, bringing the number of people who have been killed in illegal boat strikes by the U.S. military to at least 168 since the Trump administration began targeting boats in early September.

Outside the defence community, I don’t think people have understood the implications of meeting the 5% NATO spending target

In Canada, it triples defence spending to $150m, which rivals the entire main transfers to provinces

It also blows apart govt fiscal projections

Should Canada’s spy agency be more like CIA, MI6? CSIS memo outlines concerns An internal Canadian Security Intelligence Service memo says allowing the spy agency to collect foreign intelligence overseas would capitalize on its “existing footprint and expertise,” but might also invite a host of problems.

"Canada can only learn and act so much through its current collection and authorities, and has historically relied on allied partnerships for certain foreign intelligence reporting".
