As an antagonist, I disagree with this.

An RTL-SDR v4 with a discone antenna, SDR++ or GQRX software, and an external hard drive should cover 100Mhz-1Ghz nicely. The 5.8Ghz stuff would need something a bit beefier, like a HackRF.

It’s quite heartbreaking to be considering leaving such a great position with the job market in its current state, but I feel like my employer is making it clear that disabled people who require remote work options are not welcome in the organization. I spent 5 years as a server admin before moving into the web security space, where I focused mostly on WordPress and other CMS security for another 6 years. I decided to follow my passions for engineering and security 4.5 years ago, and joined an InfoSec engineering team where I’m currently employed

I mostly focus on security engineering and development, secure tool and service integration, EDR and vulnerability management/remediation, leading software/service PoCs, and providing security architecture insights. I also have a background in web app security, WordPress, and server administration.

I’ve been increasingly interested in privacy rights, security rights, journalism rights, whistleblower rights, decentralized encrypted communication networks, and anything that helps improve the world and our society.

Context: I’m an InfoSec Engineer at a Fortune 500 company, in tech/online retail.
