My in-flight reading! It gets very technical, but I don’t mind that. Some really good, cutting edge science and insights. Concurrently, I was cheering on all of the women and men competing in the Boston Marathon yesterday 🏃♀️🏃♂️#bostonstrong💙💛

So much fun to hang with my bff yesterday! We hit up the beautiful and fun children’s bookstore and pottery studio Park Street Books & Toys, chatted with the owner, then celebrated her birthday a day early 🥳🎂🎉 #indiebooksellers #bffs
After 17 years, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful family home that has held so much of our story. 💛
We are so excited for the beautiful new home ahead of us, but packing up this one has brought all the feelings. Sending so many good thoughts to the new family moving in. ❤️
THIS group…where do I begin to express my love and gratitude? These ladies gave me the inspiration and confidence to start writing for children. I will miss being on the east coast with them, but I know our bonds and time spent together is far from over 🩷🩷

@juliegonzalez.bsky.social has made a SPLASH with this beautiful new book! 💦 Lyrical and lively, it celebrates pool time, grandparents, and made me laugh (I love when that happens). I got to celebrate its book birthday 🎂 with her at Boyd’s Mills! @Sourcebooks #kidlit

The lovely Boyd’s Mills campus, where Highlights Magazine was born many decades ago. Now it’s a writing retreat and workshop space. #kidlit #childrensbooks @boydsmills.bsky.social
Quickly realizing that this is the kind of place and group where I could sit in the common area and chat for 5 hours… but I must resist the urge to gab! Time to get to work ⏰✍️💻📒 #kidlit @seymouragency.bsky.social @boydsmills.bsky.social
Headed to Boyd’s Mills campus in the Poconos for a writing retreat with my fellow kidlit authors, including my driving buddy, Lisa Rogers 🙂🚙✍️🌲🌱🐦⬛🪶🦉#kidlit @boydsmills.bsky.social
Bibimbap in a hot clay pot! The owner of this restaurant’s sister makes the kimchi, and it was possibly the best I’ve had. Had it atop many bites of the crispy, crunchy rice 🥰
A date in our favorite little New England seaside town (Newburyport, MA) ⛵️🌊 My parents lived here for almost 20 years, and so I got to “live” here too, when I was home from college or visiting.
I gave sardines a try tonight and they weren’t bad. 🐟

Really! **My Author Blog & Newsletter**
I’ve started my very own Author Blog and Newsletter, which feels like a bold and slightly vulnerable life choice 🤩😱
You can join through my author website here. 🥳🤗 My first blog entry is up, under “From My Writing Desk” ✍️ #kidlit #childrensbooks

Blooper! More to come…😜🩷
Is this week over yet? Sick kids (yes, plural), Mike traveling, school events, lessons, rides, potluck, writing, authoring 😰. Handling it! 😵💫
Trevor walking to his friend’s house after school 👬🎒
I had leftover buttermilk from my St. Paddy’s Day soda bread, so my oldest and I decided that this time, a semi-sweet chocolate studded, salt-topped Irish soda bread was in order. I filled out an introduction form for a writing retreat I’m attending. I put, “I’m a foodie.”
Nummy 🍲
Love that book! It’s so cute.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!! 🍀☘️💛
Ina Garten recipe that I added dried blueberries to #sodabread Good Morning! ☘️🍞
This made me laugh.
I conquered some new technology this week, and I’m proud of that. Sometimes you have to sit and tinker with things to get comfortable with them…and be okay with that 👌💡💻🎙️#kidlit #writerslife
You’ve been warned, friends!
