U but frog by mibyle A little web app to create your froggy portrait

Our team member @mibyle.bsky.social (who provided us with precious marketing supervision earlier in development and more recently switched to programming) just made a really cute little frog-themed picrew on Itch!
I made some audio for it too...

I really need to be better about posting on here but if anyone wants to play Infinity Nikki with me let me know!!

They're doing an event right now ahead of their 2.0 Launch so it's a good time to start playing!

It really is. I was genuinely surprised at how cute and silly it was.

I just watched this for the first time yesterday with @dorozdoro.bsky.social and it’s crazy. I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did (because I’m not a big “horror” person)

This is one of my very favorite images, as it features characters performed by Jim Henson throughout his life holding photos (or, in the case of Ernie, drawings) of him at about the period he was performing the character. Among the Muppets shown: Cantus, Dr. Teeth, the Swedish Chef, Sam, Link Hogthrob, Ernie, Kermit (two iterations), and Guy Smiley.

Jim Henson would've been 89 years old today. Commemorate his life and legacy by celebrating creativity, diversity, imagination, peace, and just plain silliness.

Walk with me a bit while I talk about Jim and his work--and leave your comments about what he means to you.

Right this way. /1

Help I'm thinking about when Zee and I saw Hadestown last year and Jordan Fisher was Orpheus running past us.

This is not a massive decision or any kind of change. Costco has never carried mifepristone in its pharmacies. An anti-abortion group is taking credit for something that didn't happen, possibly to generate disingenuous left-wing ire against one of the few corporations that hasn't gone MAGA.

Just a friendly PSA that listening to audiobooks is reading. Your brain is what processes the info in the book and however you get that information into your brain counts.

Working in a library setting and hearing people say audiobooks don’t count constantly makes my blood boil 🤘

I'm old enough to remember a year or two ago when both "we're not killing journalists that's illegal!" and "We're not bombing *hospitals* for god's sake" were major talking points. Violations of these things now no longer seem to even register.

Christ.

Call them anyway.
Ignore their directive.

Email them as well.

Flood them.
They wouldn't even be trying to redirect all of these complaints if the pressure wasn't making them uncomfortable.

I'm going to outline for you exactly how the christofacists win, because it's an obnoxiously simple strategy but a reliably powerful one.

You know that post that's like "I don't trust y'all to eat the rich because you'll just target a bunch of doctors and actors and forget about the people who do the real damage?" That's our communal Achilles Heel.

Here's the play: Collective Shout organizes a bunch of phone calls to payment processors demanding the elimination of NSFW/LGBT/ETC content. Payment processors go "oh, that's a lot of phone calls, we should do something" and then tell Steam and Itch to comply with those demands or be cut off from being able to do business. Then Steam and Itch have to make a decision between cutting off an arm and clamping down, or take a stand and shoot themselves in the head, functionally nuking their entire platform which, especially for Steam, have exponentially farther reaching ramifications.

Then our community gets mad at *them* and start calling them cowards and boot lickers and profess never to support them again. And like, yeah I get that getting mad at Itch is easy when you've got nothing to lose, but what the fuck with "I'll only support you, the comparatively small business with no real power as long as you can singlehandedly and successfully fight off the international might of the owners of theocratic capitalism with no further action from me?" like do people really not see the distance between creators and Itch (that's like, what? 30 people?) vs fucking Mastercard??

When the Goblin has Spider-man under his glider, we start throwing shit at him, we don't go "Damn, Spider-man, you said you'd save us. I guess you suck. Fuck you."

So if you want to be more than a useful, reactionary pawn, I'm linking to a bunch of posts where smarter people than I are sharing payment processors phone numbers, scripts on how to talk to them, and other resources. If you do not pick up your phone and make that call you have *no* right to be mad at a company that has historically been pretty good about their support for creators and are likely trying to figure out how to weather this storm in real time.

being smart is not being right. it's a lot about being able to admit when you're not. it's being willing to explore and ask questions and acknowledge complexity, especially when it comes to stuff you don't really know about or understand. it's about being able to say "I am NOT the expert. so who is"
