There was also a tape that made your speakers heaters, which was super useful but really REALLY painful on headphones.

Anyone else remember a cassette you used to be able to buy in the 80s that turned your speakers into fans? Used to put it on in the car and it went “wshshshshshsh!!!!!” REALLY painful on headphones.
*I’LL* be the judge of whether anyone else apart from me “needs” this!
There is no sheet music. The melody is just 9 notes…
D, Bb, Eb, C, F, F, Bb(high), Bb, Bb
Mind of if I ask what you want it for?
I’m not eating my bike til I’ve bought a new bike.
Oof! That’s distracting.
Mistakes like this have been happening on TV news decades before AI was a thing. (We’ve got a whole chapter about it in our book.) Doesn’t look like AI to me. My guess is an artist was in a bit of a rush, and used a map full of borders as a template.
You know what, I’ve really enjoyed every clip I’ve seen so far.
Goes without saying, if there’s one map error there are lots of other map errors too. Just spotted Liverpool’s been chopped off, and lack of Channel Islands, etc etc. But Belgium being the sea is the funniest.
Map of Europe behind newsreader has shape of Belgium filled in with sea.
Hey, #SNLUK, why is Belgium the sea?

Look at all the detail in this blink and miss it gag. The funny names in the signatures. The perfect logo. And all in 1978 when no one could pause their tellies!
There’s a pretty hefty Mornington Crescent reference in our episode of Unfinished London about the tube map. Does that count?
Phwooooooaaaarrr!!!!
Bit of a snag… the eating of my bike, which I have every intention of doing, might have to be delayed for a bit…
I was grumbling about EXACTLY this this morning! Google Maps sent me on what looked like a lovely traffic free cycle by a canal, but the “cycle path” was 25 minutes of gravel.
WANT!!!!
When GTA5 was first released on the Amiga in 1991, it came on 78,000 floppy disks.
Me and Mark laughing
We’ve just uploaded a huge batch of outtakes, deleted bits, and behind the scenes footage from the last 4 episodes of Map Men. Join us on Patreon to see, among other things, Mark’s best attempt at asking a taxi driver in French to drive him to the middle of nowhere.

Car milometer. 12346 miles.
Bah.
This is relevant actually cos when @markcooperjones.bsky.social and I recorded the audiobook for the Map Men book ‘This Way Up: When Maps Go Wrong’ the man in the booth said we weren’t allowed to sing the word “Parklife” for copyright reasons. Instead we had to *SAY* “Parklife” and it sounded weird.
I suppose I should have sent this tweet in 1996.
When Oasis got drunk and sang “shitelife” at the 1996 BRIT Awards, did Blur get PRS royalties?
For everyone except Death Cab for Cutie?

Why doesn’t EVERY music video from around 2003 that’s been uploaded to YouTube have this much distracting horizontal stripy interlacing thing going on?
To keep yous on your toes
I’ve seen them! (I’m mentioned in one of them)
Well, actually, we did submit another one first that’s demonstrably even stupider, because they actually said no to that one.

Yesterday’s episode of #MapMen contains the stupidest advert we’ve ever made, and I still can’t believe Surfshark said yes.
