We simply do not understand how consciousness works. This includes humans and all other forms of life on earth. We've mapped the entire brain of c. elegans which only has 302 neurons and still can't figure it out. The human brain has ~86 billion neurons.

They did a search on ChatGPT and it kicked out a review that they absolutely did not understand the underlying studies or context of the review.
