Instead, we have what is effectively them joining a faction for begrudging reasons, why do they have to pick a faction? Because the gameplay necessitates it, and justification isn’t really thought through so much as hand-waved. The world is becoming flat.

Neutral races should have justified splits as to why they would join either faction, when Earthen were announced, I was expecting the Unbound to sympathise with the Horde, with the Stonebound wanting to reunite with their fleshy brethren. Theres opportunities here for an intriguing divide.

It has been lost along the way that the reason the factions were interesting was that peace was tenuous and the unification was always TEMPORARY, they could fight a bigger foe together, but there was deeper and more nuanced tensions that wouldn’t abate, and that makes the world three dimensional.
