Except they're not opposing renewables. They're opposing us flogging off still more of our natural resources to rent seeking overseas capital. And we can all click on the article to read this

For Keir Starmer to talk of national resilience and ignore nature is absurd | Letters
Letters: Responding to an article by the PM, Caroline Lucas says he must be clearer about climate risks, Molly Scott Cato says we must reverse Brexit and Dr Victor Ajuwon applauds Labour’s directness....
Extraordinary that nowhere in an article on resilience did PM find space to include the growing threat posed to UK security by the dramatic decline in the health of nature around the world - especially since his own intelligence chiefs have recently spelt it out for him in no uncertain terms 👇

When you aggregate the comments of various Reform UK candidates, you find they:
Hate the NHS
Hate immigrants
Hate Black people
Hate Brown people
Hate Muslims
Hate Jews
Hate women
Hate students
Hate LGTBQ people
Hate the unemployed
Hate disabled people
Hate everyone ...
But claim to love the country.

In the 1930s, Oswald Mosley claimed to be a patriot, while his British Union of Fascists was secretly funded by the Italian government. We are just beginning to grasp how much of the far right in the UK today has been funded by Viktor Orbán and Russian oil money.
Their "patriotism" is always a con.

A Bradford District Green Party graphic featuring a crowd scene with people smiling and talking at an outdoor event - including Zack Polanski. Overlaid is a headline styled from The Independent reading: “Labour faces a green apocalypse at the local elections.” At the bottom, a green banner displays the link “join.greenparty.org.uk,” alongside the Bradford District logo and small promotional text.
🥀 We are here to replace Labour.
⛔️ To stop Reform.
🌱 And to create a fairer, greener Bradford.

Absolutely nothing dodgy at all going on here. It's perfectly normal and not at all coordinated for six different papers to carry the exact same headline like this.

John Deere to Pay $99 Million in Monumental Right-to-Repair Settlement
The ag manufacturing giant will also make digital diagnostic, maintenance, and repair tools available to third parties for 10 years.

A WHOLE CIVILIZATION
WILL DIE TONIGHT
My son needs lunch, and I have to put his backpack together, but a whole civilization will die tonight, so I'm wondering if they've closed their schools.
Like, a snow day, maybe, except instead of snow it's
"keep your children home so if you die, you die together" — instead of "well open back up once the plows have cleared" it's
"we don't know if we'll be here tomorrow, hold your babies tight."
It's just "talk" I'm told, which I've been told before.
"It's how the president makes his deals." But I've never heard anyone talk about other human beings this way, and I'm not certain I can look my son in the eyes if we all agree to stomach it one more time.
A civilization will die tonight, but as I zip up his backpack and kiss him off to school I think: if this is what we call leadership then I'm not entirely sure ours isn't already dead.

Something I don't think the UK boasts about enough - and a great rebuttal to Reform and the Tories' anti-net zero propaganda:
The UK is home to 7 out of the top 10 biggest offshore wind farms in the world. 10 of the top 20. And 6 in 10 of the largest ones in the world currently under construction.

It comes down to us — all of us ordinary folks in our local communities

・Tradesmen that need extra support & rewards for apprenticeships
・Farmers who need new ideas & support for farm waste
・Business People who need town centres renewed

More drilling in the North Sea would be a catastrophic mistake for Labour - locking us into high bills, and betraying their climate ambitions. If they’re serious about energy security, the answer is to double down instead on renewables and efficiency - and lower bills for good

We need to find a way to put all national forests in joint state and federal custody and require agreement between both to do stuff like this. Otherwise Republicans will raze the country to the ground in pursuit of money.

UK looks to relax planning rules for factory farms after industry lobbying
Exclusive: documents chronicle years-long campaign to make it easier to build intensive livestock units
Just what we don't need. Already, our rivers are overloaded with both human and livestock waste, leading in many cases to #rivercide. Now the government, responding as always to lobbyists, wants to make it worse. Then it wonders why it loses public support. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

‘A national scandal’: trawlers scour seabeds of supposedly protected UK waters
‘Precious ocean life is being pushed to the brink’ say campaigners, arguing that overfished marine areas are ‘protected only on paper’
Regardless of the issue, it's always the same story: commercial interests allowed to ride roughshod over everything and everyone else. Faced with the urgent need for action, successive governments twiddle their thumbs.

Hundreds of North Sea licences granted by Conservatives have ‘so far produced only 36 days worth of gas’

Is the Britain on the path to barbarism?
Dehumanisation of the people always unleashes personal and social tragedies
Think-tank funded by the super rich wants to freeze the UK state pension, end the triple-lock.
Full state pension is below 50% of the minimum wage.
2m pensioners live in poverty. 110,000 a year die in poverty.
Democide disguised as financial policy.
Loss of empathy leads to inhumanity.
