More information about this situation. It was through online tax filing. The only way to submit the form was by choosing resident alien status. Citizen was not an option, indicating her social security number’s citizenship status changed. She was born in the U.S. with dual citizenship in the 80s.
My friend’s daughter holds dual citizenship in U.S. and a European Country. She visited her mother in Europe for 2 weeks. The ‘IRS’ contacted her to tell her SHE COULD NOT FILE AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN she had to file as a resident alien.
Possible attempt to disenfranchise or worse American citizens with dual citizenship. Don’t file ANY paperwork that constitutes a declaration that you are a permanent American citizen. Get legal help!

I know this torture. It’s an absurdity of ND behavior that is absolutely real and not just frustrating but usually materially harmful to us. I lost 2 weeks last summer torturing myself over emails I needed to write.
I suggested asking a friend to help them get it done.
One of my longtime customers came by the shop for a visit. They were struggling really badly with an email they needed to write but just couldn’t do. It was to schedule top surgery, something they are eager for. But they couldn’t get the email written.
I have pretty severe ADHD. I exhibit 108 of the 128 symptoms. I exhibit most of the positive characteristics too. That doesn’t mitigate much of the frustration I feel working to manage my symptoms. I am thinking that the lie of rugged individualism has contributed to much suffering. Community.
