Hey there, don't be so hard on yourself :) we all started knowing absolutely nothing about game dev, it takes time sure, but you can produce a lot with how accessible the tools are !
I can recommend GameMaker, and overall visual scripting, so programming is out of the way at the start :) glhf !

Not necessarly ! I think you should try to discover a game engine, how it works, what are the main terms of it, and how you would use it as an illustrator :)
There are tons of them, but the most famous ones are : Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, GameMaker
