SCOTUS releasing Callais today would have been a funny bit. Alas.

No, but he's clearly favoured in the primary at this point and obviously the better choice over Collins.

John Fetterman voted in favor of Sarah crawling over broken glass and hot coals to vote in 2026.

The Horse Bot must be made to embrace pragmatic anti-Republicanism. ๐Ÿ˜”

Fair enough.

I don't recall any Republicans being vocal advocates for Trans people or for the right to an abortion.

You can hate him (rightfully) for being pro-Israel or voting for Trump nominees or whatever but those are still normie positions among Congressional Dems.

I agree though I wouldn't go so far as to say she feels entitled to it because I feel like someone who feels entitled to it would at least bother to run ads or otherwise do the bare minimum amount of campaigning.

I don't think she even personally dislikes Collins that much.

The bad:
- Russia has gotten sanctions relief from the US and is able to turn a massive profit on oil revenue to help stabilize its budget crisis
- Israel choosing to take sanctioned grain cargo

The good:
- New allies in Middle East to exchange tech with
- Striking Russian oil refineries deep into the country while being able to tell Americans and Europeans "no" who had previously hamstrung Ukraine's offensive capabilities
- Iran can no longer reliably supply offensive weaponry (suicide drones) to Russia

Despite still being net-bad, Ukraine has played the hand it has been dealt very well in regards to the Iran War.

Overall means they have a lot more leverage than they did at the start of the Iran War even if Russia benefits in the short term from higher oil premiums.

If she had committed to not running early then the field would have been wide open for a bunch of Maine Dems to run (who in our timeline all decided to do a likely hopeless bid for governor instead). But because if her indecision and inability to run a campaign we are here. It is Platner or Collins.

If she announced early she would have had the entire field cleared for herself and would be winning the primary easily but because she put off announcing until Schumer spent months begging her to run she let a guy with some of the most horrendous oppo in the world define himself as an authentic guy.

She can't even beat the guy with the tattoo in the primary, why would she be able to beat Collins?

The issue is her heart is not in this campaign at all. Not doing town halls, not even running ads anymore, etc.

She's getting trounced because she doesn't care enough to even win.

I'd crawl over broken glass and hot coals to vote for John Fetterman over any Republican.

Is there evidence they actually did all of them though?
I remember back when ISIS was claiming responsibility for some terror attacks (I.e. the 2017 Las Vegas shooting) where it didn't actually do anything and just wanted the clout from claiming it.

I am referring to the similarities in their campaigns.

I don't particularly care for Platner (and wish Mills or anyone else actually cared enough to win), but he's not Collins and that is all that matters when so much is on the line.

I miss that one week in 2024 when Walz started calling Republicans weird before DC Dems took him out back.

I love BlueSky because it lets you see into the minds of the Dem consultant class and boy do they get livid when people say you should speak like a normal person instead of "consultant speak".

As far as I can tell the confirmation vote for Mullin at DHS in committee is the only vote he had made where his vote mattered and would have failed if he voted no and even then:
1. It would have been transferred to the Senate floor anyways
2. Heinrich also voted for Mullin on the floor

...while getting smeared heavily by insane amounts of oppo that did nothing except make him more popular.

I mean the answer is because they're effective in the post-COVID style of politics where "appearing authentic" and "being a fighter" matters. Those campaigns are also very similar to Mamdani, who like Platner is about to, pulled off a massive upset against an entrenched establishment Dem...

Fetterman sucks, but this is super disingenuous. He still votes with the party 95% of the time and when he does break from the majority of the party he's still just voting on things that are super popular with a large amount of his caucus (I.e. Israel funding).

Mills said she'd fund Israel and has previously signaled support for the filibuster.

Seems far more Fetterman than whatever Platner has indicated.

Pic unrelated

I mean is it that hard to imagine someone voting for Collins considering she won in a landslide twice, even on the same ballot that Obama swept Maine in?

The former Dem VA Lt Gov did a murder suicide ????????????????????????????

6 days ago 0 0 1 0

Kinda funny how both Kamala Harris and Janet Mills completely screwed up a major race in their respective state (CA Gov/ME Sen) because both were very tepid about running for that respective seat.
