This photo needs to be the front page of every news paper in the world.
Israel prevented Palestinian children from going to school by blocking the routes with razor wire â the Palestinian children sat down in front the razor wire and start studying.
Media should stop saying Israel is âdemolishingâ villages in Lebanon. Itâs misleading.
The accurate term is ethnic cleansing.
It's not me, it's us.

Pope ropes a dope
I find him very sinister. He's managed to gather a bunch of more generally conservative types to make his "party" seem acceptable, but someone who has encountered him regularly described him to me as "as far right as they come" and that seems a good description to me.
To say "Ireland is full" is not to hold or outline a view - it's a formally meaningless statement of course - it's rather to make a signal to the violent minority for whom this phrase is a claim to racist and fascist solidarity. Time to stop treating II like a normal party maybe. #speirgorm
Not knowing what the worst people in the world were thinking every fucking day

Ya think?
Good debate on RTE Drivetime on the issues of rental units in gardens ("shed-sits").
Labour TD @conorsheehan.bsky.social spoke very well about the risks of abuse by dodgy landlords who won't even legally be landlords.
"I had great fun living in someone's garden in the Hamptons for three months when I was doing a J1. Now I'm building a shed to give someone else a chance."

âPalantirâs manifesto, which embraces AI state surveillance of citizens along with national service in the USA, is either a parody of a RoboCop film, or a disturbing narcissistic rant from an arrogant organisation,â said Martin Wrigley, a Lib Dem MP & member of the HofC science & technology SC
The "and in towns" is killing me. So, it's apparently hard to see people on quiet county roads, but also everywhere really.
Whoâs going to tell these councillors that the moment they step out of their cars, theyâre pedestrians too? By their own logic, theyâd need to be in hi-vis at all times.
Rather than tackling dangerous driving or poor road design, the responsibility gets dumped on the most vulnerable people instead.
Thanks for sharing. I work for, with, and against a lot of different types of employers. Academia is a world apart.
Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascistâwhich resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
You couldn't be anywhere else with an image like that.
Bid to take down fake videos and images of garda response to fuel protests False viral information, much of it being generated abroad, is on a scale ânever seen beforeâ in Ireland
Meanwhile, Aidan OâBrien, an analyst at the European Digital Media Observatory Ireland at Dublin City University (DCU), has been monitoring how the far-right in Ireland and abroad reacted to the fuel blockades. He said a âdisinformation economyâ went into full swing during last weekâs protests. He uncovered conspiracy theories about the energy crisis and talk of âthe great shutdownâ, which were already in heavy circulation on Irish social media by the middle of March. âWhen the protests erupted, Irish right-wing social media influencers went into overdrive posting video content. Many of these influencers benefit from features introduced on the platforms, like algorithm promotion, and have monetised their accounts,â he explained. âThere is now a disinformation economy. Influencers know the most dramatic footage, alongside the most sensational framing, will go viral, generating income. They arenât just promoting this footage and their narratives because it suits their agenda, theyâre making money doing so.â After that international far-right influencers pounced on the content, he said. âNearly immediately, and often within minutes of the initial videos being posted, it was downloaded and repackaged by influencers outside Ireland. âIt happened so quickly that you might assume these people are heavily immersed in the situation, but theyâre chasing the content, and the story, often repackaging footage with false claims that the protest was about migration. âThis happens because over the last five years our disinformation ecology has become exponentially complex and is fully integrated with the international far-right disinformation ecosystem.â Ireland has now become a âmajor focus of attentionâ for the international hard-right, he said. Canadian far-right influencer Ezra Levant travelled to Ireland last week as did Kevin Posobiec, whose brother Jack is an American far-right political activist and social media personality. Both filmed content while here. The fact both menâŠ
The fact both men were willing to âjump on a planeâ said a lot, added Mr OâBrien. âThe foreign attention and amplification of these protests are concerningâŠOur Government needs to start demanding real accountability and action from these [social media] companies⊠âIf the Minister [for Communications Patrick OâDonovan] is concerned about âlopsided coverageâ of the protests, he shouldnât be worried about the radio but look at social media.â On Friday, Minister OâDonovan admitted he made a âhamesâ of his call for a âreviewâ into broadcast media coverage of fuel protests. He said, âin hindsightâ, he should not have suggested that the media regulator â CoimisiĂșn na MeĂĄn â should âreviewâ both local and national broadcast coverage of the fuel protests.
I spoke to the Sindo about the unprecedented scale of disinformation we witnessed during the fuel protests & the disinformation economy. It's not enough to get this content removed post-hoc; we need to hold the platforms accountable for promoting disinformation & hate speech.

Good evening from Ukraine đșđŠ
Still standing tall.
Still stubborn.
Still not russia.
Similarly, historians will retch at Zelenskyâs treatment in the Oval Office & beyond. We all moved on to the next abomination without even stopping for sandwichesâŠ
Itâs a mark of how completely normalised the corruption & depravity have become that we barely bat an eyelid at the thought of two *property developers*, one Trumpâs nepo baby son-in-law, being sent to represent the USA in peace negotiations with Iran. Sometimes it all hits you afresh.
Israeli former general Ya'akov Or: "Jewish violence, terrorism, and pogroms are a brutality that taints every Israeli, left and right. These are metastases that will spread until the disease is terminal, and it is critical to stop them while possible."
That is brilliant, a cracker of a game.

The wonderful, vibrant colour of the scene was a stunning contrast to the white decor and black & grey uniforms that dominate the show (with the, eh, occasional splashes of red).
Iâve be involved in various capacities in counter disinformation and counter hate speech activity on Irish online spaces for over 8 years.
I have never witness anything as bad as the abuse directed at Senator Eileen Flynn⊠itâs gamergate levels of targeted & coordinated harassment.
It takes such a turn at the end. And I've always been intrigued by the "eye trouble".
