I'd bet good money its all mostly niacin, caffeine, and sugar.
Still offering to take some of the supplement supplies to do some chemical analysis about what's actually in those.
🧪 Heart rate variability is linked to surgical risk but hasn’t been easy to scale. Work from Leah Acker shows wrist-based wearables can capture HRV before and after surgery, supporting remote monitoring while highlighting gaps in higher risk patients. This week’s CompHealth Corner: duke.is/hrvstudy
Like how Homicide and Law and Order were in the same police universe
I need a Cambell-ian Call to Adventure, but to stop procrastinating on my weekend chores
I was a med student in Boston at the time but was out of town that week watching. Got lots of messages from friends who would have police frantically knock on their door, scream at them to get out of their house, run through it searching, and then just leave.
It never turned into a formal direction but I was part of some risk conversations at NASA about what the research plan would be when federal regulations no longer prohibited these kinds of projects in spaceflight.
For those considering a night shift Pitt spinoff, let me suggest a #sponcon opportunity that also reflects reality by having the ED techs spend a large portion of the night pitching crypto schemes.
Altered meme that expresses appreciation and empathy
Maybe so many more non-stats uses of the term that it couldn't close an acceptable translation. Also interesting to see the assumptions baked into different kagi prompts. I originally used "physician" and it left all the jargon intact.
Kagi translation of above
Ive been playing around with some context translation tools. Here's the output. At my layperson level it matches my gestalt but I don't know how far off it really is.

I was considering re-getting a PPL after 2 decades away from general aviation, but if this is going on maybe I should stay away.
OMG, I just used an agent to take the days off from an unwieldy PDF from my kids school and add them to the correct shared family Google calendar, all with one line prompt in the browser.
Never mind my scepticism, I am all in on AI, at least with regards to PDF management.
It's QA!

Oh noooo
Now I want to check if we actually still carry them in the supply room
huh, TIL
I met a really old school Occ Health doc recently who assumed we still did punitive "stomach pumping" for intoxicated patients. I actually don't know how that was done, maybe ipecac?
He's not really portrayed as a model teacher/mentor, so I think it's a point in the shows favor that it uses the person having a mental breakdown as using that method.
I waited a day because Kristen makes a really good point I didn't want to step on, but the other reality this scene shows is the toxic method of teaching by public humiliation of EMS in front of everyone in the ED. It really shows me who the bad people are when it happens in front of me.
Alt text didn't go through: Dr. J doing a cross body layup
As a doctor who wears comfy white and red clothes to a shift (On Wisconsin!) I just appreciate that I finally get representation in popular media.
Was your response, "arhggg grufh afrrr (spit) moon"?
A Midwestern pope and a North American warlord beefing is a fun time to have just finished finally reading A Canticle for Leibowitz! Should end well.
It's all in gouda fun
