THE DOJ IS JUST STRAIGHT UP OUT OF ATTORNEYS

It feels like Callais is the elephant in the room here. Also since when are turnaround times for cases heard in January this fast?
Trying to call jay z from j cole's phone moment
Most surreal thing abt our current moment is that 2026 has trans medicine, culture, and community that would seem like utopian science fiction from the pov of 2016, yet at the same time it features an empowered antitrans movement that looks like the darkest nightmares of sadgirls I talked to in 2016
Nah, Lee Zeldin. Still awful but like, at this point DOJ has so few attorneys to prosecute its cases and losing on more (Bondi) is a good thing
she said halation
What do you make of the fact that all the other anti-trans bills have died in committee this session in KY? Does that bode well for this amendment quietly dying once an objection is raised too? I know the legislative session ends soon.
Unless idk some obscure thing I'm missing here allows them to take up the amendment via normal procedure on the last day of the session, which isn't a thing? Or is it?
So the original bill died in committee but now he's trying to attach it as a floor amendment that would need to pass by unanimous consent on Tuesday. Its certain to not get unanimous consent, and the legislative session is done right afterward so without that it would die.
Is that what "fa" means here? Sorry, again I'm just confused because its not in the engrossed text.
Where are you seeing that the amendment is on consent orders or is scheduled to be voted on? I can't find the text of the amendment in the engrossed text
The engrossed text of the bill set to pass Tuesday does not contain the amendment. How would the amendment become part of the bill if its not engrossed?
I checked the rules for the Kentucky lege, and they would need to formally adopt this amendment. The current engrossed text, set to be voted on tuesday, does not contain it. Am I missing something here? How does this amendment become part of the bill without a vote to include it?
take the L, king
Tfw i slip in an anti-Biden joke and a lot of faith talk to make my "the FBI killed so many american citizens" civil rights lecture hopefully go down ok with my class of Texan 19 year olds
My "trans women and fat women have the same struggle" argument is always proven correct
Seeing that the most recent transphobic Helen Lewis article in The Atlantic was prompted bc some fat cis white woman author and her black husband are poly. Conservatives really do just have a list of identities that act as triggers for them that make them just start shrieking
the girl in the thumbnail is pogging
Then why did they let Dems scrap the anti trans provisions from the funding bills, where if they held firm they could probably have forced the Dems to be complicit in the whole thing and not have to scrap the filibuster in the first place?
Of all the right wing and authoritarian figures turned into objects of celebrity worship by the nerdiest side of the online fascists, why have I never seen an Ezra Pound fanboy? Its always Evola, Franco, Mishima, but no Pound. Or am I just missing them?
I mean he p clearly is saying "mutil-" then stops and the captions misinterpreted it as "people." Not saying he isn't a genocidal freak just, you know, the whole thing at accuracy in reporting you've been saying
Long time follower, first time reply girl: I really hope you are feeling ok and that you have people around you supporting you. You don't deserve any bad shit and you're a really cool person.
What are the odds this goes to en banc review? It seems like a broad ruling that overturns precedent is exactly what leads to en banc, especially on a circuit that is mostly Dem appointees
What are the odds the plaintiffs apply for en banc review and get this overturned? It seems like the other justices may not be enthusiastic about their own precedent being tossed aside so callously
Not to be all tinfoil hat but this being Austin ISD specifically seems like a calculation to make Talarico have to take a stand on the opposite side in a culture war battle that could get national news coverage
That's Dallas' Commie Corridor
Queen
I think its because of the fiscal crisis the city is in rn. Mamdani is already getting hammered for proposed cuts to police and other budget items, and if he proposes tens of millions for expanded trans care at the same time, it could fuck up the whole endeavor
Its not that UIUC students were more conservative in general, just that the conservatives there were way way worse
Its weird explaining to people that University of Illinois had worse far right politics on campus than any of the southern universities I've been at
