Last week the Montgomery County (TX) Commissioners Court voted to place an elected county judge - Mark Keough- in charge of the public library system. Keough immediately terminated the Library Director Rhea Young.

today i got to show a teen new to the area around the library and talk about events and volunteering and it was pretty rad. they went from being shy and deferring to their adult to smiling and engaging with me. my job rocks.
Things seem so hopeless, but then I go to work at the public library and I see what amazing things the community is doing, how we are helping each other, and I have hope again.

i was supposed to start my new librarian job yesterday, but we got a snow day! today is one too…someday i’ll start my new teen services position.
