Rare sighting of a column chart taking a dip at Hove Beach.

Well yes, it's all civilised here (apart from the bike on head thing).
Yikes - is this in BCP somewhere?
Australian finance journalist Robert Gottliebsen had a way to make the stock market report sound like an exciting kids’ bedtime story.
From what I hear, the sound quality of beloved old gear is largely evaluated through a nostalgic lens.
When I first came to the UK (prior to moving permanently) in the 1990s, one of the first friends I made, had a lot of Cyrus. Back in days when hi-fi gear was really heavy and integrated amps were frowned upon as being, well, too integrated.
That's made my afternoon.
Glad you enjoyed them! It’s such good use of audio as a storytelling medium - a proper immersive experience.
Also, look out for ‘Who Is Aldrich Kemp’, another fun series from this team.
Tedious isn’t it. AI is never really defined, except with vagaries of a benevolent technology that sort of solves all problems and kicks lots of cans down the road.
Just a wheeze to manage the markets a bit, for mates having a punt?
Actually it’s an old pic - these phones left the box long ago; get put in a bag and taken everywhere (audio and things related is a large part of my work). It’s a decent mic brand (most posh mic names tend to be German), but you can get some excellent stuff from Chinese makes now, too.
A pair of Neumann headphones in a retail box, with the lid off.
I get it…🙂
Oh, and if you’re still hungry after that, check out this (Amazon) audiobook from the same production team.

Headphones and solitude recommended! Enjoy 🙂🎧
It’s all amazing radio. Fugue State is a good way into Pleasant Green, but Bad Memories will scare you witless (particularly if listening on your own at night).
The radio drama ‘Fugue State’ from @juliansimpson.bsky.social is an excellent door into the Pleasant Green universe, with this great production team. Not sure it’s currently up on the main streamers, but well worth a listen if you can find it.
No thank you. The phone signal works perfectly fine on the golf course.
Genuinely, I had a brief moment of “who’s David Frost?”. The late tv personality?
Then I remembered. THAT David Frost.
Two years ago to the day. Boat trip up the Gordon River. A favourite area to visit from my youth. Rich in history (and not disconnected from my long interest in green politics!).

If you're a bit of a news junkie seeking an alternative to what's on normal channels today, Katie Halper has some interesting conversation (as ever) on her YT show today, regarding all things Middle East.
Growing up in that stalwart country of Health and Safety, Australia, where public FW sales have been banned since the 1980s, it always surprised me that they were so easily available here in the UK. Is freedom of access to fireworks a UK constitutional thing?
Actually don’t try to answer that.
Well, even once through the Eddie Van Halen belts, the deniers will point out that a livestream is ‘easily’ concocted. But even so, one just has to shout ‘Fake’ once, and enough clicks and attention will be generated to keep any troll happy for a bit.
While fun, I wonder if April 1st and its associated prankery have never quite offered the commercialisation leverage offered by Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Black Friday, VD, Father’s Day etc.

Once that headline generator was out of the bag, there was no taking him seriously again.
If I may take this on a tangent - I’d be much less averse to paying ££££ for a motorway cup of tea if - rather than dourly dowsing a teabag with lukewarm water and milk - it came out some zany Tea Machine, adorned with pipes, valves, gauges and steam whistles. Even if just for show.
An image inside the rocket from A Grand Day Out, with Gromit the dog at the control panel.
Was hoping for this…
I’m sure this isn’t original, but I get strangely nostalgic for the days when the distinction between April Fool and April Fact felt much more clear cut.
I’m sure Michael Bay has the screenplay written already, so just a case of following that.
Was expecting 45 minutes, but perhaps times have changed.
