Happy 15th anniversary yesterday, Portal 2!

Still my favourite ensemble voice cast in video games. Ellen McLain, Stephen Merchant, JK Simmons and Nolan North all knock it out of the park.

(Also happy 41st birthday today me, but that's beside the point ;) )

"Philadelphia Anxiety" starts fairly strong as a name but sort of stalls out.

Anxiety is more of a "worries them" than a "disappoints them" though...

I do a lot of cricket data stuff, so there's a lot of competition, but I think this still wins by a landslide:

(That or, as others have suggested, we're seeing some of the far side and some of the near side in these pics)

... these are (I'm guessing) just some very nice archive photos from NASA that they happen to have released recently, and the OP could've been more specific (and Ms. Wolf. could perhaps have used a little more critical thinking before she hit post) (2/2)

I can see where she's coming from in that these presumably aren't photos from Artemis II itself, since they only saw a thin crescent of the far side of the moon lit up (what with the moon being gibbous right now), and if they enhanced the light somehow we'd see a *really* bright cresecent... (1/2)

... Canadian Goose was like, okay sure, but I thought I'd've heard those myself. Northern Lapwing, uhhh... Long Tailed Duck, UHHHHH...

- Overall though, I think the good I got out of it was definitely worth the odd bits, especially for something free. Will definitely keep persevering :).

- Things like sparrows, wood pigeons and collared doves were all very successful too, though frankly if it were messing those three up I would have Concerns.

- Some occasional curious flights of fancy. I mentioned the yellow-legged gull. Blackcap and Mistle Thrush were surprising but reasonable...

- Corvids were a mixed bag, it struggled with carrion crows but latched onto jackdaws pretty much straight away.

- Generally very solid on things like songbirds, tits and so on. Already helping me identify things like blue tits myself easier. Good result there ๐Ÿ‘

Downloaded Merlin today. Thoughts so far (๐Ÿงต):

- Wow there are a lot of blackbirds out there.

- It really struggles with gulls. Heard a lot of gulls clearly with my own ears that it just didn't know what to do with. The one time it reported a gull it went with "Yellow-Legged Gull" which, uh, hmm.

TBF I work at a science museum and a lot of our newer exhibits use a Kinect for motion and distance sensing.

(The actual functionality of said exhibits is somewhat mixed...)

I've had a cold lately so haven't been doing much stargazing sadly. I know Vega's very low to the hotizon right now which is gonna make it extra twinkly.

Yeah, in my experience it usually happens at least a series or two later. Though often those are resignations (Hussain against South Africa after the 02/03 Ashes, Root against the West Indies after the 21/22 Ashes).

Inspired by the following, I present:

Roses are red,
Violets are purple,
Carrots are orange,
Spaceships are silver,
Good thing this is blank verse

I should have said something sooner, but RIP Rob Grant. The first six series of Red Dwarf - i.e. the part he co-wrote - were pretty much the best thing on television during that time, and left a huge impression on me.
