when particularly excited or perfectly at ease with someone, it can be noted that his eyes ‘dance around’.

this is nystagmus. as if his near constant bouncing energy didn’t make him wander about enough, it seems even his eyes can’t hold still. likely due to traumatic damage.

his brief encounter with the 'tremas' master, left him to lock himself alone in the TARDIS for weeks, contemplating in solitude.

. . . he'd always miss the master, regardless of their vicious rivalry. and all the attempts on his life. although he would never say so.

this was part of a "farewell tour" near the end, and it seemed this incarnation incidentally picked up the trail.

one regret however, is that he failed, at least with this incarnation, to visit the brigadier for a final time …

out of all faces, it seemed, whether intended or not, this one ran across his past companions and friends the most frequently. from sarah jane and jo grant, to even the likes of perpugilliam brown. the prior face hadn't wished him to exist.
