Ok but in Ken's defense, he doesn't want to, nyah nyah nyah boo boo, and I don't know if we've given that perspective enough airtime.

A photo of four pieces of art. In the bottom left corner is a collage of a combination of people's faces with the text "fashion's new Crush: This is the underwater fund that traps people." In the top right corner is a watercolor and colored pencil drawing of a mallard in a suit that says "don't forget to be as awesome as a duck in a suit" signed by Bethany Webb. In the top left corner is a postcard with a drawing signed by Alexis Nicole Nelson depicting a frog riding a bluebird which is carrying a basket of plant material. And in the bottom right hand corner is a postcard that has a picture of two frogs as soccer balls assigned by John Green.

Bridge shot from TNG. We've got unnamed guy with his back to us at a station, just behind Worf at tactical, Picard sitting in the captains chair and then for the main course, standing front and center we have William T. Riker. He's standing tall, arms clasped behind his back, shoulders wide, and his big Riker chest is puffed out as if he's being especially hoity toity for some reason. He also has his head cocked (pun intended) and has a bit of a curious forced grin on his face.

Closed caption reads, "Shuttle bay 2, stand by to launch...the Egg."

NASA is not what is preventing the US from fighting poverty and homelessness. it's that the US government is fundamentally uninterested in fighting poverty and homelessness and *that* is what needs to change

Anyway, thanks a million to Quebec for having so many Catholics that today is a national holiday, I guess, or something.

It's Good Friday, which in Canada means it's a holiday, which in turn means the Kid and I are home because daycare is closed.

So, to answer your question, yes. I am writing this from the bathroom, my temporary oasis, because that's the reality of parenting.

๐Ÿ“ฃ New! @cariatida.bsky.social, @aihathing.bsky.social & Sanjay Pinto argue for understanding the sprint to create the "AI-first economy" not as the logical march of progress, but as a series of deliberate economic decisions that risk harming workers in ways old & new. datasociety.net/library/last...

If youโ€™re using AI to write books, understand thatโ€™s not going to somehow get you respect or money like real writers who arenโ€™t using AI to write books because we donโ€™t get respect or money either.

Photo taken across a canal in Berlin. The image contains multi-story buildings in the background with trees and other greenery in front of them; below them is the wall of a canal. Probably most prominent in this photo is a three story mural, in white paint, of a gender ambiguoous person looking askance at the viewer with just the hint of a smile. Also lots of other marks of graffiti.

Clouds be clouding! I'm pretty sure this isn't what they mean by atmospheric river, but it sure is interesting to me that this one strip of clouds just keeps going in the distance.

Anyways, happy Sunday!.

I just finished "To Each This World" by @julieczerneda.bsky.social and GUH that's the kind of story I needed. No spoilers, but if you want a good SciFi space romp that balances bleak with hope, this one's for you.

Ok hear me out:

Parallel universes, but the first scientist to go from one to another ends up in one exactly the same as the one she came from, having swapped with her AU counterpart at exactly the same time.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! One weird thing about being an American who moved to Canada is the difficulty in finding corned beef for the traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner my family would do growing up. It's possible (shout out to Beefway near Kingsway and 33rd) but hard.
