The membership app I've been custom building for @apanoaf.bsky.social might be one of the coolest things I've ever taken from my brain into reality.

The real problem around the Moda Center/Blazer discussion is we just got a billionaire on paper and not an actual wealthy MFer like Paul Allen.
I'm sorry if you were too broke to buy the team, but there are plenty of other billionaires who could actually afford it, my guy.
Also: public ownership.
Meanwhile, our progressive councilors @candaceavalos.bsky.social @pnwpolicyangel.bsky.social @drmitchpdx.bsky.social just passed an ordinance to *actually* address long term affordability + housing crises in Portland -- not just sweep people off the streets so #Portland passes the "windshield" test.
Wilson is trying to utilize the same tactics that Kevin Looper was using (trying to win the framing battle in the press) when he painted Portland as a horrible place to live.
Local outlets shouldn't have let him get away with his victory tour last Dec when he said he ended unsheltered homelessness.
This article also shows the image of #Portland is + has always been up for grabs.
Portland doesn't exist in a vacuum.
It suffers from same affordability crises as other medium/big markets and is navigating the same historic wealth inequality.
But there is more good about this city than bad.
MUST read from @lmonghughes.bsky.social ahead of the Mayor's budget about to officially drop.
The Mayor's office is disputing MultCo's official numbers without providing any evidence to back his claim.
He promised to end unsheltered homelessness in #Portland but it has increased in his first year.
When I was running ThndrStrm a few years ago and had a state rep apply for an entry level social media manager position, I knew the system was fucked.
With the news of Lori Chavez DeRemer flaming out in the Trump administration, I think it's worth noting that #Oregon's 5th Congressional District is on its THIRD shitty congressperson in 17 years.

The Mayor's proposed budget will be released today by 5PM and if you have any comments on it you should sign up to testify an hour before it's released to the public www.portland.gov/budget/2026-...
My order at Taco Bell was $4.19 today so I had to give the cashier $4.20 in cash with a big smile on my face..
She counted the change, smiled, and said Happy 4/20.
Tired of being told by people who “supported my campaign” that I’m “acting like a victim” when I name the racial power dynamics at City Hall. You elected a Blacktina to lead in a space not built for her voice. And I’m doing exactly that. This is what leadership looks like. This is the work.
Call me crazy but I think we need to pay elected officials enough for them to not have second jobs.
Companies/organizations/schools shouldn't be able to put a legislator on their payroll. The idea that these relationships don't influence outcomes is ridiculous.

Notice how the progressive councilors have passed the most legislation and yet none of us got a shout out from the mayor at the state of the city address for our work delivering for Portlanders 🙃 just in case the alliances weren't clear! 😉
I do appreciate you voting against it.
Yeah, but some of these personalities pre-existed the Sinclair buy out and I apparently just never really saw it until recently.
How about this segment from a few months ago where Steve Dunn of KATU covers the controversy around making Lake Oswego public and one of his former KATU colleagues is being interviewed as if they are a random board member of the Lake Oswego Corporation.

Why are all the local news anchors/weather people Republicans??
I realized Bruce Sussman who moderated the Oregon GOP debate tonight was the former weather dude for KPTV.
If Christine Drazan doesn't get the nomination, she could always go into voice acting for Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Watching the Republican Gubernatorial Debate and Ed Diehl is quite literally using the same talking points around homelessness as the Mayor of Portland.
Got half a mind to run for mayor of Milwaukie on the platform of buying the old Bob's Red Mill location and turning it into a city-owned music venue.
The alliances that seem to be hardening (China, Russia, Iran) are not looking in our favor.

Melania confirmed "Epstein was not alone." This means the survivors are not a "hoax" as Donald Trump claimed. Melania Trump must testify as to what she knows about other who men raped or abused the survivors. @lawrenceodonnell.bsky.social

Our subgenius president is claiming victory in an unpopular war that ended up with the Strait of Hormuz as a tollbooth for Iran and Oman with a two million dollar toll to be split by both countries, except dollars are not accepted and payment must be in Chinese yuan. Great success!
Black and while graphic that reads "IMPEACH TRUMP AGAIN", where a silhouette of the president giving a thumbs up is showcased Below in an orange box, it reads: TELL CONGRESS TO DO THEIR JOB: 202-224-3121
Call Congress and tell them to do their job:
202-224-3121
Thune should immediately call the Senate back into session. Trump’s unhinged threats to commit massive war crimes against Iranian civilian targets show an increasing mental and moral instability we can’t ignore.
I texted my Congressperson's personal cell phone today and told them that their statement about Trump's threat against Iran wasn't strong enough and that they needed to get out front calling for impeachment by putting out videos and calling into radio/cable stations.
They texted me back: "Thanks."
The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.
The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.
Man, if we can successfully stop Trump from stealing the midterms through voter suppression, it's going to be a monumental loss for Republicans in November.
