HUD issued an interim final rule removing the 30 day notice requirement before lease termination for nonpayment of rent in public housing and PBRA. Effective 03/30/26, notice periods revert to pre 2021 rules based on program and state or local law. Comments due 04/27/26.

HUD announced today through Federal Register Vol. 90, No. 246, the extension of compliance deadline date for Community Planning and Development (CPD) programs to January 1, 2027.
