Tonight, while most people are watching TV or putting their kids to bed, the U.S. Senate is taking a vote that could permanently end protections for one of the most beloved wilderness areas in America.

Damn it all. My mom is from up that way and one of uncles now lives up there. Two years ago he told me about this battle and how opposed he & most everyone else up there is to it. Those mining barons have been itching to get their money-grubbing mitts on that wilderness.

A pox on the cop who turned on his lights, made a u-turn at an intersection where it's illegal for everyone else to do so, and then as soon as he's completed the turn, cuts off his lights and proceeds as per usual. No emergency. Just a cop being a jerk.

If you've got the $ to buy that many cookies, you've got the $ to leave even a small tip. These young people don't make a lot, and that would have been a nice little bump in their pay for this week, even when split amongst them.

What a complete asshat, not tipping anything.

These employees make the dough, scoop, bake, decorate, and package the cookies. Person comes to pick up the order today and DOESN'T TIP. Not a thing. Like, I get that 10% on >9k is a lot, but why not do a custom amout for like 150-200, even?

My Kiddo works at a cookie shop (it's a chain, she works for a local franchisee). They make & sell big cookies that aren't cheap. I get that. So somebody puts in a large order for this week. More than 9k worth. That's a LOT of cookies.

Trump's VA killed a home loan program. Vets are now losing their homes because of it Foreclosures on VA loans are at their highest level in a decade. VA has a fix but it is months away and could still leave vets worse off than most other homeowners.

Parenting is hard, even though they're all adults now. If you think it'll be easier when your kids are older, it won't necessarily be. SOME things are easier, but some things are more difficult. And OOF I need some time to myself.
