That would have just been a bookend to a pretty awful few weeks.

Not a review paper, but the Lawson report (1908) is a fascinating document for the time.
Is that a coprolite?
At least they didn’t try to use dynamite to dispose of a whale carcass that washed up on a beach.
I’m a notoriously bad editor of my own posts. That is how you know it is me and not a bot!
It is just so tacky. Even if it were real gold it would be tacky. All this will look even more ridiculous as time goes on.
“panting”. 🤣
Today marks 120 years since the Great San Francisco earthquake.

A TV news host in a tv studio interviewing an earthquake scientist (Ross Stein) online about the 1906 earthquake
I managed to catch an interview with Ross Stein from @temblorinc.bsky.social talking about the 1906 earthquake from Jack London’s perspective on this evening’s @kpixtv.bsky.social newscast.
Oh no. It has been a rough couple of weeks and the world needs Brody more than ever. Send all of our pawsitive energy his way.
Somehow I keep getting older! Yesterday, I found a security badge from 1995. I couldn’t believe how young I looked.
I can’t believe it has been 20 years since the 100th anniversary. That is the one time I made it to Lotta’s fountain. They still had a handful of survivors.
Oh no.
Hegseth is deeply unqualified. He needs to go as well as anyone who confirmed him. This country needs real accountability, especially when it comes to the people appointed to lead our troops and those empowered to select those leaders.
It is ear and neck scritches time.

It is grotesque and all about the prison labor state they are continuing to build.
I had to bow out due to a family emergency with an aging parent. I’m a little bummed, but it wouldn’t have been that enjoyable if I spent the entire weekend worrying. At least I got to see Springsteen this week.
I had to do a double take because that cat is @palmercatsf.bsky.social ‘s doppleganger
I’ve seen him a bunch of times and he played with so much conviction, as much if not more, compared to the nearly 40 years of shows I’ve been seeing him.
Officials at “Alligator Alcatraz” are defying a court order and the Constitution. We’re fighting back.
Once again I had the privilege last night to see Bruce Springsteen again at the Chase Center. He packed the house (despite a pathetic plea Trump to boycott his tour), and raged against the machine (with guest member Tom Morello) for 3 hours.
Oh no.
I’m convinced everyone in his circle knew and only jumped ship when it became known. I’m just so disappointed and frustrated by all of it.

We work with NWS staff on various hazards ranging from tsunamis to weather events and they are the invisible dedicated professionals that everyone relies on and few appreciate.
It was a fun ride for us (except for the cat). Also, pretty much (as far as I was concerned) what was forecast, which just shows how well the National Weather Service does its job.
