Who cares?

- Trump’s reckless actions in the Middle East will have catastrophic impact on the US economy and the safety of our people and our allies. This could very easily lead to more terrorism against the U.S. and Israel, thus perpetuating the cycle once again.

- Donald Trump is unconcerned with the consequences of any of his actions. He simply does whatever feels good in the moment and declares victory. He has never acknowledged failure and never will. And Republican voters appear to have no problem with this.

- The culture warriors of the GOP have successfully dehumanized transgender people as freaks, monsters and predators and most moderates consider it “extremist” to push back in any way.

- A.I. will become cheaper & more powerful & nearly impossible to avoid. Equally inevitable is that it will be used in the service of hyperrealistic pornography. (That said, a case can certainly be made that some of the more unsettling forms of porn are more ethical if live humans are not exploited)

- There is no Democratic politician that will oppose the Netanyahu regime who is also popular enough to win the Presidential nomination in 2028. Which once again means that the anti-Israel left will refuse to vote Democratic.

- Donald Trump will be the leader of the GOP until he dies and not a microsecond sooner. The only accurate bellwether of change would be if the elected officials of the Republican Party were to demand that he be replaced.

- If Trump is still breathing air in November, he will begin his run for a third term, and most of the GOP will support him. It will be up to the Democrats and the state election boards to stop him.

‪- If the unredacted Epstein Files were released and read aloud on network television, Donald Trump would still never be prosecuted for anything that’s in them.‬

The entire system of capitalism requires people to perform labor in exchange for survival, which will be severely upended if large segments of the aforementioned labor cease to exist

I do not believe “These People Should Redirect Their Efforts Into Other Careers” is quite going to compensate for the seismic change that Artificial Intelligence appears to be making inevitable

“Why pay for stuff if machines can do it for free” is a powerful argument for those who are responsible for Paying for Stuff but will understandably leave millions of people absolutely unprepared for a future where their labor is no longer necessary

And of course, training machines to perform low-level and medium-level tasks at an acceptable level of competence will save the aforementioned captains of industry a boatload of money that would’ve ordinarily have gone to human workers who have the burden of supporting themselves and/or families

A.I. is promoted most aggressively by the big tech companies because their database depends on as many people as possible providing it with data.

As you have likely noticed, their primary use for it will be to generate income by monitoring our daily habits so they can sell us stuff we don’t need.

One of Donald Trump’s most personally loathsome character traits is his insistence on being praised for everything he does. The way he condescendingly lectures the New York Times is familiar to anyone who has had to deal with a chronic abuser.

I think it just means his critics have better vocabularies
