SNES is such a goated console! I’ve started my collection, but it’s come to a halt since the idea of moving has come up >.< but I guess it works out anyway since I was collecting the pal versions cause the Euro console is most like the Super Famicon model 🔥

All genres of RPGs are inspired by DND and MuDs. But the type of game design that came from it is inherently different. DND and MuDs inspired EverQuest, SWG and WoW, but they’re all their own style called MMOs.
I didn’t call any of these games WRPGs. I said, “JRPGs are usually turn based.”. Not all JRPGs are turn based, a lot of them are action. But there are very specific nuances that make them JRPGs.
Games that have JRPG game design are JRPG. Regardless of where they’re developed. The acronyms are only used based on where the genre of the game design originated. If they have elements of both categories JRPG and WRPG, they’re WJRPGs, such as modern FF. Despite being developed in Japan
I pretty much covered that, saying not all WRPGs are exactly one way,in the 2nd post.Another point I missed that differentiates a JRPG from WRPG is freedom vs linear design and different outcome based on choices. FF freedom and combat is why I don’t consider modern FF a JRPG anymore. More of a JWRPG
