Posted something very similar on this today. See also trying to teach different modules to students in the same class, "I didn't revise for it because I'm just going to resit it", 'voluntary' booster sessions for every module etc etc

Interested in the age split on this @teachertapp.bsky.social question. Also the opinions of those of us old enough to have had students sitting/resitting/studying for different modules in the same class. Whilst also managing coursework.... #Edusky #teamcompsci
Yes I think this is true and something people outside teaching don't understand well enough. The greatest driver of learning is motivation and humans are not naturally motivated to want to learn stuff. So you need to be inspired to do it. Humans are needed for that.
Longpigs is always the correct answer
This is so, so well-articulated.

When I first started teaching, teachers made their own resources, which gives you a much better understanding of why you're teaching something and where it's leading. Now lots of teachers buy them because we don't even get time to do the actual job properly.
So much fun working on this with @lessonhacker.bsky.social

the feeling I'm getting using Claude at work is that if you're a good engineer with deep knowledge of the codebase, it can make you a lot more productive. if you're a mediocre engineer with surface level knowledge of the codebase, it can also make you a lot more productive, which is BAD.
Let's remember this during options evenings, assemblies and lessons - "...the knowing of knowledge can and should be an end in itself in a civilised society..."

If behaviour isn't good in your school, don't bother prioritising anything else until it is. You'll be wasting your time.
We moved into our house in 2009. Despite moving up the pay scale + TLRs since (two HOD family) we wouldn't be able to afford to buy it today.
Very good today. A little bit smug that I got it with no hints.
I do enjoy these CCHQ quotes: "Yes another of the people we promoted to extremely important roles is a grifting wanker."

Yep. I've totally stepped back from my usual diet of politics podcasts. Inconsequential fiction and comedy for me right now.
it's funny that you can see exactly when the AI bubble hit
Garmin knows it's nearly the end of term. We can make it folks!
I find the idea of deepfake AI clones of real teachers viscerally disgusting.
At one point in this article an organisation that does this trys to justify if by saying no teacher will be forced to have a clone.
Wow.

Knowing me, solving clue
I've never had anyone able to successfully give me a meaningful example of 'working smarter' in a school context.
That's good and all, but have you tried...

Standing at the bottom of the stairs bellowing "SHOES???" Into the void whilst wondering how one half of yet another pair of gloves has gone walkabout.
A lot of the time I have enough knowledge to know what "AI" tells me is either wrong, or hasn't given me what I've asked for, but what happens when you haven't? #TeamCompSci
