With the 2026 midterms approaching, Republican officials continue a push for more restrictions on overseas voters, including U.S. military members stationed abroad.
I can attest to this since we were doing field work at this time. Sweaty from start to finish above the Arctic Circle... www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Enacing cloud with Lapporten in background
Our last day of fieldwork for the #EnMAP project was eventful with lightning, hail, wind and a downpour. Luckily all viewed from Björkliden's restaurant terrace. Unfortunately the clouds moved in just in time for the satellite overpass.
It has been tough in the hot sun, but really, fieldwork is the best part of remote sensing! 😊
Another beautiful day of groundtruthing for our #EnMAP.#SNSA project ... without sweating from start to finish under a hot sun.
Fieldwork for Emil's hyperspectral PhD work was in Kärkevägge today. Not a bad work environment...
Oh my God it is so hot on this train! 28C in Murjek, and about 35C on board...
Emil and I are on our way north for 2 weeks of field work... with a little bit of equipment...
Another exciting day in the ReindeerFlux project!🦌 Frida and @colebrachmann.bsky.social measured CO₂ & CH₄, while Alex and Johan flew drones with radar, multispectral & NDVI sensors. Thanks @svtnyheter.bsky.social’s Susan & Henrik for visiting—loved sharing our work in beautiful Grövelsjön! 🌿
This describes our vacation so far...
#LPS25 power breakfast
Yesterday, besides the opening session of #LPS25, I found Sofia Walther et al's talk on estimating Arctic Boreal NEE interesting, with importance of local training and addition of meteo variables, with more results to come.

I'm walking to #LPS25 this morning, glad for the shade of Sycamore trees in the city of Vienna. We need the trees more than ever.🌳
Any idea what alternate strategies they are considering or might consider? 🤔
More of this truth telling please (and thank you)
Fantastic introductory seminar by our new PhD student Emil Larsson! 🛰️ He’ll be exploring how hyperspectral satellite data can unlock new insights into Arctic biodiversity ❄️🌱. Excited to follow his journey — and to learn a lot along the way! 📚✨
Have fun!
🌳🛰️ Our groundbreaking Biomass satellite lifted off on Vega-C #VV26 from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana at 10:15 BST/11:15 CEST on 29 April. The satellite is designed to provide unprecedented insights into the world’s forests and their crucial role in Earth’s carbon cycle.
