My dad joined me for a quick down and back to DC for the event! I was humbled to be considered among the other amazing nominees across the country who are working hard for their constituents and for women.

"We're in a state right now where people are hungry for accountability Every public dollar that we spend has to be accounted for And, right now, our current voucher program doesn't do that."
We can't look taxpayers in the eye and tell them honestly that their tax dollars are going towards a quality education.
During today's budget debate, I introduced amendments that would:
β’ Keep more tax dollars for education in public schools
β’ Restore the income cap for the private school voucher program
β’ Increase funding for students with disabilities
NC House Republicans blocked all of them.

It's time for the General Assembly to show up and fully deliver for Western North Carolina.
We filed this bill to fill the needs of our neighbors and communities across WNC, but there is much more we must do to help people recover.
Two days in a row now, the speaker has put House Bill 171 (DEI ban) on the calendar and then pulled it off when he saw how many people showed up in the gallery. They're cowards.

π¨ North Carolina Republicans just introduced HB 804, which completely bans abortions after conception β with no exceptions for rape/incest and includes a minimum $100,000 fine for seeking reproductive health care.
This app is the nerdy one now, right? I can post pics from our Colonial Williamsburg Christmas? I went to the courthouse both days bc I wanted to see different cases π I was suing the county for bad roads, dad tried to get out of paying taxes bc he was moving that day, and Eric played a justice π

"Members of the Charter School Review Board saw strengths in the Liberty Charterβs board, such as membersβ business experience, but one member questioned the lack of a K-12 educator on the board, and at least a couple board members suggested the all-male board could be improved by including women."
Here's hoping this app stays civil and useful π€
