Why are the Slots being mapped at random?
Artists have to remember which Slot went where, and assign them manually anyway. What a mess!

From the Blender 5.1 changelog: Replace actions on multiple objects.

Why do you have to tease me like that Blender?

This needs to happen for every data-block!
(And Blender also has to store which Slot was animating which data-block.)

The animation system remains a hard blocker for any meaningful adoption of Blender in the games industry.
